'2864 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE .cITY COl1NCIL OF THEC.lTY OF VERNON DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO DESTROY CERTAIN BONDS REMAINING IN THE POSSESSION '.5 OF. THE. CITY, c, FIXING THE TIItQ!1.AND PJ:.4C,E' OF DESTRUCTION, AND . DECLARING A NEWSPAPER PUBLTSmmAND CIRCULATED WITHIN THE CITY OF 4 VERNON. 5 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: SECT'ION 'I: That it is the intention of the City Council of the City of Vernon to destroy certain executed but not sold and disposed of bonds pursuant to authority granted by Section 43900 of the GoverUlentCode of the State of California, said bonds more partj~ula~lydescribed as follows: Municipal Improvement District No. 2 Bonds;, in the to~l amount of Twenty-Five Thousand Dollars ($25,000.00), l1U1lbered 101 to 125, inclusive, indenom.inations of One TbousandDollars ($1,000.00) each. S'ECT'ION2: That the City Council of the City of Vernon finds and deems it desirable to destroy said bonds for the follow- ing rea.sons: (a> one Hundred, Twenty-Five Thousand Dollars ($125,000.00) in Municipal Improvement District No. 2 Bonds were authorized and issued for the installation of.certain. sanitary sewers in certain' public streets.in the Ci-ty>of Vernon byaSpecialElection held o.nKlirch 25, 1930 (llesolutionNo. 580), but only One Hundre<J Thousand Dollars ($100,000.00) of said bonds (numbered one (1) to one hundred (100) inClusive) were sold to cover the cost of said improvements; (b) All expenditures in connection with the improvements of this district as contemplated by this bond issue have been eo.pleted; and (c) All outstanding bonds sold'forthe imptovelflent of this district have been redeemed by the City of Vernon; (d) That all bonds were voted to be issued fo;r. a 26 municipal purpose; 27 (e) 'C That all of said bonds have been executed, bl,lt not sold al1ddisposed of; and 28 29 30 31 (f) The sale and disposal of the bonds is deemed by the City Council of the City of vernon to have become inexpedient, and their destruction desira.ble. 32 hereby finds that there is no' official newspaper in the CitJof SECTION 3: That the City Council of the City of Vernon 1. 1 2 '.0 4 5 6 7 8 9 vernon, and that there is no newspaper designated by said City Council of the City of Vernon published and circulated. in said City, and that, pursuant to the provisions of Governaent Code Section 6042,the City Council of the City of Vernon finds that the Los Angeles Daily Journal is a daily newspaper of general circulation within the City of Vernon, and circulated within the City of Vernon, and that the same is a newspaper of general circulation published nearest thereto. SECTION" 4: That pursuant to Section 43901 of the 10 Government Code of the State of California, notice of intention 11 to destroy said bonds shall be published in the Los Angeles Daily 12 Journal four successive weeks prior to destruction. 13 14 15 16 17 18 SECTIONS: That the notice of intention shall state: <a) The time and place of the destruction; (0) The reason for the destruction; and (c) The general description of the character and amount of the bonds. NOTICE OF INTENTION (FOR DESTRUCTION OF MUNICIPAL BONDS) NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON INTENDS TO DESTROY CERTAIN EXECUTED BUT NOT SOLD AND DISPOSED OF BONDS, PURSUANT TO THE AUTHORITY GRANTED BY SECTION 43900, ET SEQ. OF THE GOVERNMENT CODE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA, SAID BONDS BEING MORE PARTICULAR- LY DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS: Municipal Improvement District No. 2 Bonds, in tbe total amount of Twenty-Five Thousand Dollars ($25,000.00) numbered 101 to 125 inclusive, in denominations of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) each. That said bonds will be destroyed on the 6th day of December, 1966, at the hour of 2:00 o'clock P.M., in the Council Chambers of the City Council of the City of Vernon, located in the City Hall, at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, all in the City of Vernon, State of California. That the reason for the destruction of said bonds is as follows: (a) One Hundred, Twenty~Five Thousand Dollars ($125,000.00) in Municipal Improvement District No. 2 Bonds were authorized and issued for the installation of certain sanitary sewers in certain public streets in the City of Vernon by a Special Election held on March 25, 1930 (Resolution No. 580), but only One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000.00) of said bonds (numbered one (1) to one hundred (100) inclusive, were sold to cover the cost of said improvements; (b) All expenditures in connection with the improvements of this district as contemplated by this bond issue have been completed; (c) All outstanding bonds sold for the improvement of this district have been redeemed by the City of Vernon; (d) That all bonds were voted to be issued for a municipal purpose; (e) That all of said bonds have been executed but not sold and disposed of; and 1. .. .
