Resolution No. 2867 , . .." - ,."',. 1 RESOLUTION NO. 2867 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON, RETAINING PAUL P. HENDRICKS AS CONSULTING ELECTRICAL ENGINEER OF THE CITY -.3 OF VERNON. 4 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: 5 WHEREAS, the City of Vernon is in need of a Consulting 6 Electrical Engineer to insure the proper operation of the Vernon 7 Light and Power System, and 8 'WHEREAS, Paul P. HendriQks is familiar with said Light and 9 Power System, and has indicated a desire to serve in the capacity 10 of Consulting Electrical Engineer, 11 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:, 12 SECTION 1: That effective November 1, 1966, Paul P. 13 Hendricks is retained as Consulting Electrical Engineer for the 14 City of Vernon. 15 SECTION 2: That the duties of said Paul P. Hendricks shall 16 be to work with the City Council of the City of Vernon, and advise 17 the same regarding the operation of the Light and Power System of 18 the City of Vernon. 19 SECTION 3: That said consulting Electrical Engineer of the 20 City of Vernon is hereby retained at a salary of $1,500.00 per 21 month, payable in advance, commencing November 1, 1966, plus a 22 reimbursement of any moneys advanced or expended by said Consulting 23 Electrical Engineer on behalf of the City of Vernon for necessary 24 and reasonable expenses in the performance.of his services for the 25 City, exclusive of office facilities, secretarial services, local 26 telephone charges, and local automobile transportation. 27 SECTION 4: Resolution No. 2166, and all Resolutions in 28 conflict herewith, are hereby repealed as of October 31,1966. 30 SECTION 5: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall certify to the passage of this Resolution, and thereupon and there- after the same shall be in full force and effect. 29 31 32 1. .. , -. c, JI'::- '0.-.". ...~, ~,f. Heinze that the services of an Assistant Consulting Electrical Engineer are re~uired by the City of Vernon. After several meetings with Mr. Heinze in which we have reviewed the general re~uirements of this position and also, in whiCh we have reviewed my experience, education and suitability for this type of work, I believe that I am qualified for this position and therefore, I wish to apply for the position of Assistant Consulting Electrical Engineer. The fOllowing is a brief resume of my background for this type 01' work: Education: Master 01' Engineering, University of California at Los Angeles. Class of 1958. Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering, University of Southern California. Class 01' 1943. Registration: Professional Electrical Engineer, State of California. Registration No. E ... 1777. Experience: Industrial Electrical Power and Utility Engineering in Southern California for ( 16 ) years, from 1946 to the present. Locations of work have included Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, Southern Calif- ornia Edison Company, Union Oil Company 01' California and Consolidated Western Steel Division 01' United States Steel Corporation. Military: United States Naval Reserve, active duty 1943 - 1946. Statistics: Born RiChfield, Utah, September 2, 1920. I have been advised by Mr. Heinze that in the position as Assistant Consulting Electrical Engineer that I would represent Mr. Heinze in his absence and also, that I would be authorized to sign documents as his assistant. Further, I understand that I would report to the City Administrator, Mr. John B. Moore, for work coordination. In my conferences with Mr. Heinze I have received general information and I will re~uire additional information and advice from Mr. Heinze in the future to effectively perform the duties 01' this position. I agree to perform. this work on a month to month basis at a fee rate of $ 14,000 per annum. I will be available for work on April 9,1962.
