RESOLUTION NO. 2887
2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON, AUTHORIZING
THE SALE AND CONVEYANCE OF TWO SUBSTATIONS NOW OWNED BY THE CITY OF
'.3 VERNON TO OWENS-ILLINOIS, INC., A CORPORATION.
4 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
5 WHEREAS, the City of Vernon is presently the owner of
6 certain facilities utilized in the electrical system of Vernon,
7 and l~cated upon the property of Owens-Illinois, Inc., serving the
8 premises of said OwenS-Illinois, Inc., at 2923 Fruitland Avenue,
9 in the City of Vernon, State of California, and
10 WHEREAS, the City of Vernon finds that it is expeditious
11 and beneficial to the City of Vernon to sell, transfer, and convey
12 the same to Owens':"Illinois, Inc., and
13 WHEREAS, the City of Vernon finds that the sale of said
14 substations will be at no loss to the City of Vernon,
15 NOW. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:

SECTION 1: That the. City of Vernon hereby accepts
17 purchase order No. 0250 of Owens-Illinois, Inc., a corporation, for
18 the purchase of existing electrical power service equipment, des-
19 cribed as the City of Vernonts Substation No. 1 and Substation No.
20 2, located on OwenS-Illinois, Inc. premises, located at 2923
21 Fruitland Avenue, Vernon, California, including underground con-
22 ductors and devices and line transformers as listed on the in-
23 ventory statement dated November 18, 1966.

SECTION 2: That the Mayor and City Clerk of the City of
25 Vernon are hereby authorized to execute and deliver to Owens-
26 IllinOiS, Inc., a corporation, a bill of sale for the equipment
27 described in Section 1 above, upon receipt by the City of Vernon
28 of the sum of $46,693.00, plus 4% sales tax in the amount of
29 $1,867.72, being a total purchase price of $48,560.72.

SECTION 3: That the property to be transferred and
31 conveyed, pursuant to this Resolution, consists of the property se
32 forth in the Bill of Sale attached hereto and marked Exhibit "AU,

1 and incorporated at this point by reference for all purposes as if
2 set forth in full.

SECTION 4: That the City of Vernon does hereby find.
4 that it is in the best interests of the City, and beneficial to
5 the City of VernoD.',to execute the Bill of Sale as described herein,
6 and to transfer and convey the property for the consideration as
7 described herein.

SECTION 5: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
9 certify to the passage of this Resolution, and thereupon and there-

10 after the same shall be in full force and effect.
