RESOLUTION NO. 2894
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON ACCEPl'ING
THE BID OF ELCO CORPORATION.. FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF CIVIC CENTER
RESERVoiR AND POlIPING STATION NO. 1 IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT
NO. 279.' ,
5 THE CITYCOUNc.IL,OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOL,VESAS FOLLOWS:
6 WHEREAS, Contract No. 279 was approved. by the.City
7 Council of the City of Vernen by Res,olution No. 2877 and, pursuant
8 thereto sealed bids were opelledon the 7th day of February, 1967,
9 and
10 WHEREAS, said bids were referred to Arthu.r E.Nelson,
11 Jr., City Engineer, who has reported to the City Council under
12 date of February 16, 1967, recommending that a contract be awarded
13 to Elco Corporation for the sum of $1,349,649.00, it being the
14 lowest bid meeting the contract requirements,
15 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:

S'e'C'tt'o'n' '1: Tha t the City Council of the City of Vernon
17 does hereby award the contract in accordance with the recommenda-
18 tions of Arthur E. Nelson, Jr., and authorizes the execution of a
19 contract with Elco Corporation, for the construction of Civic
20 Center Reservoir and Pumping Station No.1, in accordance with
21 Contract No. 279 heretofore approved by the City Council of the
22 City of Vernon.

S'e'ct'ioIr 2: That all other bids are rejected, and the
24 City Clerk is hereby instructed to returll all checks or drafts to
25 unsuccessful bidders.

S'ect'ion"3: That the City Clerk of the City. of Vernon
27 shall certify to the passage of this Resolution, and thereupon and
28 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
