2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON, CALLING
AND GIVING NOTICE OF THEHOLDING OF A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION
3 TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY ON TUESDAY, THE 9th DAY OF APRIL, 1968,
FOR THE ELECTION OF CERTAIN OFFICERS OF SAID CITY AS REQUIRED BY
4 THE PROVISIONS OF THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA RELATING
TO GENERAL IA W CITIES.

WHEREAS, under the provisions of the laws relating
to General Law Cities in the State of california, a regular
general municipal election shall be held on the 9th day of April,
1968, for the election of two (2) .members of the City Council of
said City for the full term of four years.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON,
CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That pursuant to the requirements of the
15 laws of the State of California relating to General Law Cities
16 within said State, there shall be, and there is hereby called and
17 ordered, held in the City of Vernon, County of Los Angeles, State
18 of California, on Tuesday, the 9th day of April, 1968, a regular
19 general municipal election of the qualified electors of said City
20 for the purpose of electing two (2) members of the City Council
21 of said City for the full term of four years.

SECTION 2: That the ballots to be used at said
23 election shall be, both as to form and matter contained therein,
24 such as may be required by law to be used thereat.

SECTION 3: That the City Clerk of said City is hereby
26 authorized, instructed and directed to procure and furnish any
27 and all official ballots, notices, printed matter and all supplies,
28 equipment and paraphernalia that may be necessary in order to
29 properly and lawfully conduct said election.

SECTION 4: That for the purpose of holding said regular
31 general municipal election, there shall be and are hereby estab-

the regular election precincts in the City of Vernon established
for the holding of state and county elections, as said regular
election precincts exist on the date of adoption of this resolution
That the polling place for the precinct shall be the plaCe,heI'e'"
inafter designated; and that the persons hereinafter named, being
competent and qu,alified electors and resiqents of saiQ. City and
of the voting precinct are hereby appointed officers of election
for the voting precinct and they shall hold said election and
make return thereof in the manner provided by law.

SECTION 5- That the compensation of the persons herein-
18 before named as election officers is hereby fixed at the sum of
19 $18.00 for each Inspector and $18.00 for each Judge and Clerk for
20 said election.

SECTION 6: That the polls for said election shall be
22 open at seven o'clock A.M. of the day of said election and shall
23 remain open continuously from said time until seven o'clock P.M.
241 of the same day when said polls shall be closed, except as provided
25 in Section 14436 of the Elections Code of the state of California.

SECTION 7: That in all particulars not recited in this
27 resolution, said election shall be held and conducted as provided
28 by law for holding municipal elections in said City.

SECTION 8: That notice of the time and place of holding
30 said election is hereby given and the City Clerk is hereby
31 authorized, instructed and directed to give such further or
32 additional notice of said election in time, form and manner as

SECTION 9: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
3 certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and
4 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
