Resolution No. 2941 ~I 7 8 9 10 11 . ~ .. i"- ;.,) .1 RESOLUTION NO. 2941 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON FINDING THE PUBLIC INTEREST AND CONVENIENCE REQUIRE THE SALE OF A SITE DEDICATED TO A PUBLIC USE, DECLARING THE CITY'S INTENTION TO SELL SAID PROPERTY, FIXING THE TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING PROTESTS TO SAID SALE, PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION OF NOTICE OF HEARING, AND FIXING THE TIME OF FINAL ACTION FOR SAID SALE. 21 31 4 5 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has determined that it is in the public interest and convenience to require the same of certain hereinafter described public property, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: SECTTONI: That the City Council of the city of Vernon 12 does hereby find that it is in the public interest and convenience 13 to require the sale of a public site dedicated to a public use, 14 as hereinafter described. 15 SECTION 2: That the 20th day of February, 1968, at the 16 hour of 2:00 o'clock P.M., in the Council Chambers of the City 17 Council, in the City Hall, located at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, in the 18 City of Vernon~ is the time and place fixed for bearing protests 19 to said sale. 20 SECTION 3: That the 20th day of February, 1968, at the 21 hour of 2:00 o'clock P.M., or as soon thereafter as may be con- 22 venient, in the Council Chambers of the City Council, in the 23 City Hall, located at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, in the City of Vernon, 24 is the time and place fixed for the taking of final action on the 25 sale of said public property. 26 SECTION 4: That the City Council finds that there is no 27 daily newspaper published and circulated within the City of Vernon. SECTION 5: That the Los Angeles Daily Journal is a 28 29 daily newspaper, published in the County of Los Angeles, and that 30 the notice of the hearing of protest to the sale of public property 31 be published one (I) time, at least ten (10) days prior to said 32 hearing. I. .. . . r ,1 SECTION 6: That notice shall also be given by posting 2 this resolution for not less than ten CIO) days in at least three 3 (3) conspicuous places upon the parcel of real property affected, 4 and the City Clerk of the City of Vernon is directed to post said 5 notice forthwith. 6 SECTION 7: That at any time prior to final action, any . . 7 person interested may protest the proposed sale. Said protest may 8 be written and delivered to the City Clerk of the City of vernon, 9 or may be oral at the meeting considering the resolution to be 10 adopted at the time final action will be taken. 11 SECTION 8: That the property to be sold is described 12 as follows: 13 Lot 8 and that portion of the westerly 20..00 feet of Lot 9 of Jno. R. Taylor's Vernon Avenue Villa Lots, in 14 the city of Vernon, county of Los Angeles, state of California, as per map recorded in book 4 page 42 of Maps, 15 in the office of the county recorder of said county, lying northerly of the northerly line of the land des- 16 cribed in the deed recorded on september 25, 1961 as Instrument No. 434 in book D-1364 page 806, Official 17 Records of said county. 18 EXCEPT therefrom the northerly 100 feet of said described land. 19 SECTION 9: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall 201 certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and 21 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect. 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 ADOPTED and APPROVED this 16th day of January, 1968.
