RESOLUTION NO. 2945
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON,. DETERMININ
FINAL ACTION ON THE SALE OF A SITE DEDICATED TO A PUBLIC USE,
DECLARING THE CITY'S INTENTION TO SELL SAID PROPERTY, AND DETER-
MINING THAT NO PROTESTS HAVE BEEN RECEIVED.
5 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
6 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon, pur-
7 suant to Resolution No. 2941, has held a hearing to hear protests
8 of the sale of the after-described property on the 20th day of
9 February, 1968, at the hour of 2:00 o'clock P.M., in the Council
10 Chambers of the City Council, in the City Hall, located at 4305
11 Santa Fe Avenue, in the City of Vernon,
12 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:

SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
14 hereby finds that there are no protests, either written or oral,
15 to the sale of certain hereinafter described public property.

SECTION 2; That the City Council of the City of Vernon
17 hereby finds that notice of hearing of protests to the sale of
18 said public property, has been published at least one (1) time, at
19 least ten (10) days prior to said hearing.

SECTION 3: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
21 finds that it is in the public interests and convenience to
22 require the sale of a public site dedicated to a public use, as
23 hereinafter described.

SECTION 4: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
25 hereby agrees to sell said property, as hereinafter described,
26 to George Miller and Madeline Miller, husband and wife, as joint
27 tenants upon the terms and conditions as set forth in that certain
28 letter agreement dated January 9, 1968, and executed on behalf of
29 the City of Vernon by D. D. Grayson, Traffic Engineer, and
30 approved and ratified by George Miller Construction Company, a
31 corporation, and further as supplemented by a letter dated January
32 22, 1968 1rom D. D. Grayson, Traffic Engineer, to the ~ity Council

of the City of Vernon, and acted upon at the regular Council
meeting held February 6, 1968, and further, pursuant to the terms
and conditions set forth in escrow instructions with Title

Insurance and Trust Company, which escrow instructions the Mayor
and City Clerk of the City of Vernon are hereby authorized to
execute on behalf of the City of Vernon.
SECTION 5: That the property to be sold is described
8 as follows:
9 Lot 8 and that portion of the westerly 20.00 feet of
Lot 9 of Jno. R. Taylor's Vernon Avenue Villa Lots, in
10 the city of Vernon, county of Los Angeles, state of
California, as per map recorded in book 4 page 42 of Maps,
111 in the office of the county recorder of said county,
lying northerly of the northerly line of the land
12 described in the deed recorded on September 25, 1961 as
Instrument No. 434 in book D-1364 page 806, Official
13 Records of said county.
14 EXCEPT therefrom the northerly 100 feet of said
described land.
