RESOLUTION NO. 2955
2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON, CONSENTING
TO ESTABLISHMENT OF A PORTION OF BANDINI BOULEVARD WITHIN SAID CITY
3 AS A PART OF THE SYSTEM OF COUNTY HIGHWAYS OF THE COUNTY OF LOS
ANGELES.

5 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
6 WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors did, on March 26, 1968,
7 duly adopt a resolution declaring Bandini Boulevard at Los Angeles
8 River as a part of the system of highways of the County of Los
9 Angeles, all as provided in Sections 1700 to 1704, inclusive, of
10 the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California; and
11 WHEREAS, said Board of Supervisors by said resolution
12 requested this Council to give its consent to improve said road
13 within said portion described above:
14 NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Vernon
15 does resolve as follows:

SECTION 1: Consent to Inclusion in county High.way System.
17 The City Council of the City of Vernon does hereby consent to the
18 establishment of Bandini Boulevard at Los Angeles River as part
19 of the system of highways of the County of Los Angeles as provided
20 in Sections 1700 to 1704, inclusive, of the Streets and Highways
21 Code of the State of California.

SECTION 2: Improvements of Road. Consent is hereby
23 given for the improvement of the above described road by the County
24 of Los Angeles, in conformity with its standard plans and spec i-
25 fications for such a road, or such other plans and specifications
26 as may be approved by this City Council.

SECTION 3: Finding of minor nature. The City Council of
28 the City of Vernon does hereby find that pursuant to Government
29 Code, Section 65402 (b), the aforesaid improvement and/or acquisi-
30 tionof right of way is for street widening and/or alignment of a
31 minor nature and that, therefore, the provisions of said Section
32 requiring the submission to and report upon said project by the

SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
3 certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and
4 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.

CASH CONTRACT NO. 2528
Enclosed is a coPY of our letter to the Board of Supervisors of the
County of Los Angeles recommending that the Board adopt a Resolution
declaring a portion of subject street to be a part of the County System
of Highways for the purpose of construction. Upon adoption of this
Resolution by the Board, a copy of the fonnal action will be transmitted
to you for your consideration.
It should be noted that Sections 1701 and 1850 of the Streets and Highways
Code have recently been amended to facilitate such projects by providing
that the City may now consent to the County's jurisdiction by Resolution.
Previously such action was limited to enactment by Ordinance.
In addition, Section 65402 (b) of the Government Code has been revised
to provide that the City Council mav find in such Resolution that the
project involves street'widening and/or right of way acquisition of a
minor nature. In that event, it is no longer necessary to submit the
oroject to the City Planning Agency.
Enclosed is a draft of a Resolution conta.ining such findings whose ena.ct-
ment will meet the reouirements of these amendments and expedite the
oroject.

RESOLUTION DECLARING A PORTION OF BANDINI BOULEVARD IN THE CITY
OF VERNON TO BE APART OF THE COUNTY SYSTEH OF HIGHWA.YS
WHEREAS, by reason of its location and travel thereon, the hereinafter
described street in the City of Vernon, County of Los Angeles, State of
California, should be a part of the System of County Highways in ~aid County;
and
WHEREAS, it is the purpose of the Board of Supervisors of said County
to construct improvements thereon provided the consent of the governing body
shall first be given:
NOH, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors of the
County of Los Angeles, State of California, that the portion of the fo11o~iing
named street, ~ithin the City of Vernon, between the limits indicated in the
table belm,!, is hereby declared to be a part of the System of Highways of
said County as provided in Sections 1700 to 1704 inclusive of the Streets
and Highways Code of the State of California for the purpose of and limited
to the aforementioned construction.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors that the Clerk of
the Board of Supervisors is hereby instructed to transmit a certified copy
of this ResoluHon to the City of Vernon for its. consideration with a request
that said City send conforme~ copies of its Resolution or Ordinance to
