RESOLUTION NO. 2968
2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON, ORDERING
THE VACATION OF AN ALLEY LOCATED WITHIN THE CITY OF VERNON, AND
3 REPEALING RESOLUTION NO. 2965.
4 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
5 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon, on June 5,
6 1968, adopted Resolution No. 2965, being a resolution of the City
7 Council of the City of Vernon ordering the vacation of an alley
8 located within the City of Vernon, and
9 WHEREAS, said Resolution incorrectly stated the distance
10 between posting of notices of street vacation, and
111 WHEREAS, it is the intention of the City Council of the
12 City of Vernon to correctly reflect the posting procedure, and

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon, on May 7,
1968, adopted Resolution NO. 2963, being a resolution of the City
Council of the City of Vernon declaring its intention to vacate
an alley located within the City of Vernon, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to said resolution the time and place
for public hearing for all persons interested in or objecting to
19 the proposed vacation was set for 2:00 o'clock on June 5, 1968,
20 in the Council chambers of the City of Vernon, and
21 WHEREAS, all persons interested in or objecting to the
22 proposed vacation have been heard, and the reports and recommenda-
23 tions of all interested departments of the City of Vernon have been
24 presented, and
25 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon determines
26 that the public convenience and necessity require the reservation
27 of certain easements and rights of way within said alley, but that
28 said alley is no longer necessary for present or prospective street
29 purposes,
30 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:

SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
32 does hereby order the vacation of that portion of that certain alle

A ,
described as that portion of that certain alley shown on and
dedicated by map of Tract No. 6056, recorded in Book 74, page 33,
of Maps, in the office of the Recorder of the County of Los Angeles
which lies northerly of and adjoins the northerly liaes of Lots
33 to 52, inclusive, of said tract.
SECTION 2: That the vacation of said alley is pursual'l.t
to the provisions of part 3 of division 9 of the streets and
Highways Code of the state of California.
Section 3: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
finds that the City Clerk of the City of Vernon posted conspicu-
10us1y along the line of said Alley proposed to be vacated, at leas
tel'l. (10) days before the date set for hearing, notices of street
vacation, and said notices have been posted not more than three
hundred (300) feet apart, but that at least three (3) of such
notices have been posted.
SECTION 4: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
has determined that the public convenience and necessity require
the reservation of a permanent easement and right at any time, to
remove and renew sanitary sewers, and storm drains and appurtenance
thereto, or from time to time to construct, maintain, operate or
replace the same in, upon, over and across said alley, and the
whole thereof, and further that the public convenience and neces-
sity require the reservation on behalf of the City of Vernon of
easements to construct, maintain, operate, replace, remove, renew
and enlarge lines of pipe, conduits, cables, wires, poles, and
other convenient structures, equipment, and fixtures for the
operation of gas pipe lines, telegraphic and telephone lines,
railroad lines, and for the transportation or distribution of
electric energy, petroleum and its products, ammonia, water and
incidental purposes, including the access and right to keep the
property free from inflamable materials and root growth, and
otherwise protect the same from a~l hazards in, upon, and over the

SEC'NiON 5: That the City Clerk of the City of Vernoa is
4 hceby instructed to cause a certified copy of this resolutiou,
5 attested by the Clerk under the seal of the City of Veraon, to be
6 recorded ill the office of the County Recorder .of ,the County of
7 Los Angeles.

SECTION 6: Resolution No. 2965, being a resolution of the
9 City Council of the City of Vernon., ordering the vacation of an
10 alley located within the City of VerRon, is hereby repealed..
11
SECTION 7: That the City Clerk of the City of VernoB
12 shall certify to the passage of this resolutioB, .and ther.upon
13 and thereafter the same shall be in full . force and effect.
