RESOLUTION NO. 2993
2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON, DETER-
MINING FINAL ACTION ON THE SALE OF A SITE DEDICATED TO A PUBLIC
3 USE, DECLARING THE CITY'S INTENTION TO SELL SAID PROPERTY, AND
DETERMINING THAT NO PROTESTS HAVE BEEN RECEIVED.

5 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
6 WHEREAS, tbe City Council of the City of Vernon,
7 pursuant to Resolution No. 2990, has held a hearing to hear
e protests for the sale of the after described property on the 7th
9 day .0fJanuary, 1969, at the hour of 2:00 o'clock l?M. in tbe
10 Council Chamber of the City Council in the City Hall, located at
11 4305 santa Fe Avenue, in the City of Vernon,
12 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Vernon

14 hereby finds that there are no protests, either written or oral,
15 to the sale of the hereinafter described public property.

SECT]ON 2: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
17 hereby finds that notice of hearing of protests to the sale of
18 public property has been published at least one (1) time, at
19 least ten (10) days prior to said hearing.
SECTION 3: Tbat the City Council of the City of Vernon

21 finds that it is in the public interest and convenience to require
22 the sale of a public site dedicated to a public use, as herein-
23 after described.

SECTION 4: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
25 hereby agrees to sell said property as hereinafter described to
26 Byron Jackson Pump Division of Borg-Warner Corporation, upon the
27 terms and conditions asset forth in that certain letter agreement
28 dated November 26, 1968, which letter tendered an offer to the
29 City of Vernon for the purchase of said real property. The City
30 Council further authorizes and directs th.eMayor and City Clerk
31 of the City of Vernon to enter into and execute necessay escrow
32 instructions with the Title Insurance and Trust Company to

1 effectuate Said sale.

SECTION 5: That the property to be sold is described
3 as follows: The easterly 40 feet of Lot 7, Block 4 of New Vernon,
4 in the City of Vernon, County of Los Angeles, State of California.

SECTION 6: That the Mayor and City Clerk of the City
6 of Vernon are hereby authorized to execute and deliver a deed in
7 order to complete the sale of the property as described above.

SECTION 7: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
9 certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and
10 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
11 ADOPTED and APPROVED this 7th day of January, 1969.
