1 RESOLUTION NO .2994
:3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON, AUTHORIZINC
THE DESTRUCTION OF CERTAIN CITY RECORDS, D.OCUMENTS, INSTRUMENTS,
3 BOOKS, AND PAPERS PURSUANT TO GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION 34090.
4 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
5 WHEnEAS, the City Clerk of the City of Vernon, under
6 date of January 14, 1969, has recommended that certain records, docu-
7 ments, instruments, books, and papers under his charge and under
8 the charge of other department heads be destroyed, and
9 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon finds
10 that none of the foregoing records affect the title to real pro-
11 perty or liens thereon, and
12 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon finds
13 that none of said records are court records nor are records
14 required to be kept by statute, and that the same are more than
15 five years old, and that none of said records are minutes, ordi-
16 nances, or resolutions of the legislative body of the City of
17 Vernon, and
18 WHEREAS, the written consent of the City Attorney and
19 the heads of each appropriate City Department to the destruction
20 of such records have been obtained,
21 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:

SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
23 does hereby authorize the destruction by the department head in
24 charge of said records, without making a copy thereof.

SECTION 2: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
26 finds that the same are no longer required for any purposes of the
27 City of Vernon.

SECTION 3: That the records, documents, instruments,
29 books or papers to be destroyed are as follows; all for the
30 calendar year 1961:

Cancelled Payroll Checks
32 Demands

SECTION 4: That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon
is hereby directed to certify to the passage of this resolution,
and thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and
effect.
ADOPTED and APPROVED this 21st day of January, 1969.
