RESOLUTION NO. 3013
:3 A RESOLUTION OF TH1!: CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF' VERNON, APPHOVING
CONTRACT NO. 340, BANDINI BOULEVARD WATER MAIN EXTENSION ACROSS
3 LOS ANGELES RIVER BRIDGE, AND DIRECTING THE GIVING OF NOTICE
INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS OR BIDS IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO.
4 340 OF THE CITY OF VERNON.
5 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
6 WHEREAS, there has been presented to the City Council
7 of the City of Vernon Contract No. 340, providing for Bandini
8 Boulevard Water Main Extension across Los Angeles River Bridge, and
9 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has deter-
10 mined that it is in the best interests of the City that said
11 contract be awarded in accordance with applicable State laws,
12 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:

SECTION 1: That Contract No. 340 is hereby approved by
14 the City Council of the City of Vernon.

SECTION 2: That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon
16 is hereby directed to file in his office in the City Hall of the
17 City of Vernon a copy of Contract No. 340.

SECTION 3: That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon
19 is hereby directed to give notice in writing, inviting sealed
20 proposals or bids for Bandini Boulevard water main extension across
21 Los Angeles River Bridge in accordance with Contract No. 340, and
22 in accordance with this resolution.

SECTION 4: ThEre being no newspaper of general circula-
24 tion printed, published or circulated in the City of Vernon, the
25 City Clerk is hereby directed to post said notice, or cause the
26 same to be posted in three (3) of the most public places in the
27 City, to wit: The northwest corner of 38th Street and Santa Fe
28 Avenue; the northeast corner of Leonis Boulevard and Pacific
29 Boulevard; and on the bulletin board in the lobby of the City Hall
30 of the City of Vernon, located at 4305 santa Fe Avenue, in said
31 City.

SECTION 5: That the City Council of the City e>f Vernon

1 has ascertained the general prevailing rate of per diem wages in
:3 the locality in which the work described in Contract No. 340 is to
3 be performed, for each craft, classification, or type of workman
4 needed to execute said contract and that the general prevailing
5 rate of per diem wages and the general prevailing rate for holiday
6 and overtime work in the locality of the execution of Contract
7 No. 340 for each craft, classification, or type of workman needed
8 is set forth in said contract and incorporated by reference at
9 this point for all purposes as if set forth in full, and hereby
10 approved by the City Council of the City of Vernon.

SECTION 6: That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon
12 is directed to post said notice forthwith and the first posting
13 of said notice shall not be less than ten (10) days before the
14 date of opening bids for the proposed work. That said notice
15 shall provide that sealed proposals or bids will be received by
16 the City of Vernon, California, at the office of the City Clerk
17 of said City, at the City Hall, 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, until the
18 hour of 2:00 o'clock P.M., on the 20th day of May, 1969, in
19 accordance with Contract No. 340, approved by said City.

SECTION 7: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
21 certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and
22 thaeafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
23 ADOPTED and APPROVED this 6th day of May, 1969.

published in the City of Vernon.
