Resolution No. 3029 J. 2 ;3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 RESOLUTION NO. 3029 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON, CONSENTIN TO THE TRANSFER OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY FROM THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON pARK TO THE CITY OF VERNON PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 4.5 OF CHAPTER 1, PART 2, DIVISION 2, TITLE 4 OF THE GOVERNMENT CODE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: WHEREAS, the City of Huntington Park and the City of Vernon are contiguous and the City Council of the City of Huntington park has adopted Resolution 69-51 pr0posing the trans- fer o! certain uninhabited territory in the City of Huntington Park to the City of Vernon, and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon is willing to consent to said transfer pursuant to Section 35271 of the Government Code of the State of California, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Vernon 16 does hereby consent to the transfer of that certain hereinafter 17 described territory presently included within the City of 18 Huntington Park, and further consents that the same be transferred 19 to and annexed by the City of Vernon. 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 SECTION 2: That the territory proposed to be transferred is described as follows: Beginning at a point on the common boundary line of the City of Vernon and the City of Huntington Park, as said common boundary line existed on December 2, 1968, said point being the most westerly corner of Lot 3 of Tract No. 4293, as per map filed in Book 47, page 93 of Maps. in the office of the County Recorder of Los Angeles County, said point also being the most easterly corner of that portion of Slauson Avenue (vacated) as described in Parcel No. 2 of Ordinance No. 500 of the Board of Trustees of the City of Huntington Park passed and approved on August 6, 1923, the southeasterly and southerly lines of said portion of Slauson Avenue (vacated) being parallel and concentric and 15 feet northwesterly at right angles from the center line of the Redondo Branch of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad; thence southwesterly along said southeasterly line, being a curve concave northwesterly, a distance of 464.91 feet; thence along said southerly line South 890 23' 40ft West 414.66 feet to the south- westerly corner of said Parcel No.2; thence westerly in a direct line to the southeasterly corner of Lot 2 of 1. 1 2 ;3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 , " Tract 8348, as per map filed in Book 107, page 67 of Maps, in the office of~he County Recorder of said County; thence along the southerly line of said last mentioned Lot and the southerly line of Lot 3 of said last mentioned tract. and the westerly prolongation of said southerly line of Lot 3 to the common boundary line of the City of Vernon and the City of Huntington Park as said cOIll111Qn boundary line existe9.on December 2, 1968; thence along said boundary lin~ northerly and easterly to tpe point of beginning. SECTION 3: That the City Clerk of the Ci;ty of Vernon is hereby authorized and directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles and to the City Council of the City of Huntington Park. SECTION 4: That said territory shall be described as nU. S. Steel Corporation Annexation to the City of Vernon". SECTION 5: That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
