RESOLUTION NO. 3042
2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON, ACCEPTING
THE BID OF CENTRAL MOTORS FORD, INC. FOR AN ASPHALT TRUCK IN
3 ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO. 345.
4 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
5 WHEREAS, Contract No. 345 was approved by the City
6 Council of the City of Vernon and, pursuant thereto, sealed bids
7 lwere opened on September 16, 1969, and
8 WHEREAS, said bids were referred to Robert H. King,
9 Director of Public Works, who has reported to the City Council
10 under date of October 1, 1969, recommending that the contract be
11 awarded to Central Motors Ford, Inc., for the sum of $9,18U15,
12 being the lowest bid meeting the contract requirements, and
13
WHEREAS, the previous low bidder, Maurice J. Sopp & Son,
14 has asked that the bid of said Maurice J. Sopp & Son be withdrawn
15 because of a misunderstanding,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
SECTION l: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
18 does hereby award the contract in accordance with the recommendatio
19 of Robert H. King, Director of Public Works, and authorizes the
20 execution of the contract with Central Motors Ford, Inc. for an
21 1 asphalt truck in accordance with Contract No. 345 of the City of
22 Vernon.

SECTION 2,: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
24 does hereby authorize Maurice J. Sopp & Son to withdraw their bid
25 for said asphalt truck.

SECTION 3: That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon
27 shall certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and
28 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
