GEORGE N. CAPRINF: FOR HIS MANY YEARS OF SERVICE TO THE CITY OF

Mr. George N. Caprine will retire from the service
of the City of Vernon at the close of business on December 31,
1969.
Mr. Caprine entered the service of the city in 1933
at the completion of the diesel plant. (During the plant's con-
struction he was electrical foreman for Newhery Electrical Corp.)
In 1937 he hecame an employee of Southern California Edison Co.
when they took over operation of our system. In 1941 he left
Vernon for work in the war effort at Pearl Harbor.
Mr. Caprine came back to our employ in May, 1963, to
set up and then operate an electrical inspection program. During
these 6 1/2 years, the quality and safety of electrical installa-
tions in Vernon improved drastically unde his guidance. His
work will be sorely missed.
