RESOLUTION NO. 3062
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON, APPROVING
CONTRACT NO. 350 FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF DOWNEY ROAD PROPERTY, AND
GIVING NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS OR BIDS IN ACCORDANCE WITH
CONTRACT NO. 350 OF.THE CITY OF VERNON.
5 THE .CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
6 WHEREAS, there. has been presented to the City Council of
7 the city of Yernon Contract No. 350, providing for the improvement
8 of Downey Road property, and
9 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has deter~
10 mined that it is in the best interests of the City that said
11 contract be awarded. in accordance with applicable State laws,
12 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:

SECTION 1: That Contract No.. 350 is hereby app;roved by
14 the City Council of the City of Vernon.

SECTION .2: That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
16 hereby directed to file in.his office in the City Hall of the City
17 of Vernon a copy of Contract No. 350.

SECTION 3: Tha.t the City Clerk o.f the City o.f Vernon is
19 hereby directed to give notice in writing, inviting sealed
20 proposals or. bids for the improvement of Downey Road property in
21 accordance .wlth Contr.a,ct.~No. 350, and in accordance wi ththis
22 resolution.

NOTICE INVITING BIDS
NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS OR BIDS FOR IMPROVEMENT OF
DOWNEY ROAD PROPERTY, IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO. 350 OF THE
CITY OF VERNON.
Pursuant to Resolution No. 3062 of the City of Vernon,
adopted on the 6th day of January, 1970, directing same, notice
is hereby given that sealed proposals or bids will be received
by the City of Vernon, California at the office of the City
Clerk of said City, at the City Hall, 4305 Santa Fe Avenue,
until the hour of two (2) o'clock P.M., on the 20th day of
January, 1970, for the improvement of Downey Road Property, in
11 accordance with Contract No. 350 approved by said City. The
12 proposals will be publicly opened and read in the Council
13 Chambers of the City Hall located at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, Vernon,
14 California, on the date and at the time above mentioned.
15 Specifications and contract documents may be obtained at- the
16 above mentioned office of the City Clerk upon payment of a
17 deposit of ten dollars ($10.00) for each specification.
18 The construction to be done and materials to be furnished
19 under said Contract No. 350 are approximately as follows=

Construct 3" asphalt concrete pavement
Construct 4 ft. high chain link fence
Paint parking stalls and install concrete
parking lot bumpers
Reset storm drain manhole frame and cover
187 tons
356 line ft.
As required

23 The construction shall be in accordance with Contract
24 No. 350 heretofore approved by the City Council of said City,
25 and now on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City,
26 a copy of which may be secured from the Director of Public Works
27 of said City.
28 Bidders are hereby notified that, pursuant to the pro-
29 viaons of Sections 1770-1781, inclusive, of the Qabor Code of
30 the State of California, the City Council of the City of Vernon
31 has ascertained the general prevailing rate of per diem wages
32 and rates for legal holidays and for overtime work in the
