RESOLUTION NO. 3065
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY. OF VERNON, AUTHORIZIN
THE DESTRUCTION OF CERTAIN CITY RECORDS, DOCUMENTS, INSTRUMENTS,
BOOKS AND PAPERS, ,PURSUANT TO GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION 34090.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, the City .Clerk of the City of Vernon, under date
of January 2, 1~70, has recommended that certain records, document ,
instruments, books and papers under his charge and under the charg
of other department heags be destroyed, and
WHEREAS, theC~ty Council of the City of Vernon finds
that none of the ,foregoing records affect the title to real pro-
perty, or li-ens thereon, and
WHEREAS~.the Ci,ty 'council of. the'CIity of Vernon finds
that none of said record,s are. court records nor are records
required to be kept by...s:tatute,an.d that the same are more than
seven years old, and that none of said records are minutes,
ordinances, or resolutions of the legislative body of the City of
Vernon, and
WHEREAS, the written consent of the City Attorney and
the heads of each appropriate City Department to the destruction
of such records have been obtained,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
SECTION 1:
That the City Council of the City of Vernon
23 does hereby authorize the destruction by the department head in
24 charge of said records,without making; a copy thereof.

SECTION 2: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
26- finds that,the same are no longer required for any purposes of the
27 City of Vernon.

SECTION 3: That the records, documents, instruments,
29 books or papers to be destroyed are as follows; all for the
30 calendar year 1962:

Cancelled Payroll Checks
32 Demands

SECTION 4: That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon
8 is hereby directed to certify to the passage of this resolution,
9 and thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and
10 effect.
11 ADOPTED and APPROVED this 6th day of January, 1970.
