RESOLUTION NO. 3069
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON, CALLING
AND GIVING'NOTICE OF THE HOLDING 'OF A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION.
TO BE HELD IN SAID C.,ITY ON. TUESDAY, THE 14TH DAY OF APRIL, 1970,
FOR THE ELECTION OfCERTAtNOFFICERSOF SAID. CITY AS REQUIRED BY
THE PROVISIONS OFTHE'LAWSOF THE 'STATE OF CALIFORNIA RELATING
TO GENERALLAW CITIES.
6 WHEREAS, under the provisions of the laws relating to
7 General Law Cities in the State of california, a regular general
8 municipal election shall be held on the 14th day of April, 1970,
9 for the election of three (3) members of the City Council of said
10 City for the full term of four years.
11 NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON,
12 CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS
13 FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: That pursuant to the requirements of the
15 laws of the State of California relating to General Law Cities
16 within said State, there shall be, and there is hereby called and
17 ordered, held in the City of Vernon, County of Los Angeles, State
18 of california, on Tuesday, the 14th day of April, 1970, a regular
19 general municipal election of the qualified electors of said City
20 for the purpose of electing three (3) members of the City Council
21 of said City for the full term of four (4) years.

SECTION 2: That the ballots to be used at said election

23 shall be, both as to form and matter cDntained therein, such as
24 may be required by law to be used thereat.

SECTION 3: That the City Clerk of said City is hereby
26 authorized, instructed and directed to procure and furnish any
27 and all official ballots, notices, printed matter and all supplies
28 equipment and paraphernalia that may be necessary in order to
29 properly aI1dlawfully conduct said election.

SECTION 4: That. ':for the purpose of holding said regular
31 general municipal election, there shall be and are hereby estab-
32 lisbedJ>'ne ~:(i): vottng precinct, consisting of consolida tionsof

.1 the regular election precincts in the City of Vernon e.staplished
2 for the holding of state and county elections, as said regular
3 election precincts exist on the date of adoption of this resolu-
4 tion. That the polling place for the precinct shall be the place
5 hereinafter designated; and that the persons hereinafter named,
6 being competent and qualified electors and residents of said
7 City and of the voting precinct are hereby liPpointed officers of
8 election for the voting pr'ecinct and they shall hold said election
9 and make return thereof in the manner provided by law.

11 1 , 2, 3, 4, and 5 .

SECTION 5: That the compensation of the persons herein-
19 before na1lled as el~ction officers is hereby fixed a t the sum of
20 $21.00 foreacb Inspector, and $21.00 for each Judge and Clerk
21 for said election.

SECTION 6: That the polls for said election shall be
23 open at seven o'clock A.M. of the' d~~ of said election and shall
24 remain open continuously from said time until seven o'clock P.M.

25 of the same day when said polls shall be closed, except as pro-
26 vided in Se.ctlon 14436 of the Elections Code of the Stlite of
27 California.

SECTION 7: That in all particulars not:recited in this
29 resolution, said election shall be held and conducted as provided
30 by la.'W for holding municipal elections in said City.

SECTION 8: Thlit notice of the time and place of holding
32 said election is hereby given and the City Clerk is hereby

2 additional notice of said election in time, form and manner as

3 required by law.
SECTION 9: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
5 certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and
6 thereafter the same. shall be in full force and effect.
7 ADOPTED and APPROVED this 20th day of .January, 1970.
