THE CITY. COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOPIS: WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has dc;rtermined, in compllancewi1;h Ordina'nce No. 749 of the City of Vernon, that the financial position of the Light and Power Operating Funds are such as to permit the granting of a credit against the rates charged for electrical energy distributed and supplied to its electrical consumers, and WHEREAS, it is proposed by the Southern California Edison Company that excessive charges paid by the Southern California Edison Company and refunded to said company will be transmitted to customers of said company, including the. City of Vernon, and the City of Vernon desires to credit its custOllers with said refunds, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Vernon 19 finds that credit shall be given to its electrical conSumers for 20 a refu.nd granted to the Southern California Edison Coapany for 21 excessive charges paid by said company and refunded to the City of :Z2 Vernon for natural g.as used for fuel. 23 SECTION 2: That the refunds shall be made in accordance 24 with Southern Ca~ifornia Edison Tariff No. 4038-E, Preliminary 25 Statement, Section G. 26 SECTION 3: That the credit or refund allowed pursuant 27 to this resolution is contingent upon the Southern California 28 Edison Company putting a plan of refund into effect on or about 29 February 9, 1970, substantially similar to the plan referred to 30 herein and, further, upon the City of Vernon eventually receiving 5.1 a refund from the Southern California Edison Company in amounts 32 substantial enough to pay the refunds provided for herein. 1. 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 :Z2 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 51 :52 'Jo-- ...f .1 SECTION 4: The effective date of the credit applicable 2 undar< the terms of this resolution shall be on or after February 3 ).2, 1970. 4 SECTION 5: The refund period commencing February 12, 5 1970 shall extend through the regular billing period next follow- 6 inti said date.
