RESOLUTION NO. 3091
A RESOLUTION OF~ THE CITY COUNCIL ,OF THEGITY OF VERNON, CALIFORNIA
REcrrINgTIIE FACT OF THE GENERAL 1IUNICIP~L ELECTION HELD IN SAID
CITY OF VERNON ON THE 1.4THDAYOF APRIL.,' 1~70, DECLARING THE
RESULT THEREOF AND SUCH OTHER MATTERS AS ARE PROVIDED BY LAW.
5 THE CITY, COUNCIL OF THE' CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
6 WHEREAS, ....~re,gul~r g~neralmunicipal election was held an
7 conducted in the City of Vernon, County of Los Angeles, State of
8 California, on Tuesday, the l4.th day of April, 1970, as required
9 by law; and
10 WHEREAS, notice of said election was duly and regularly
11. given in time, form and manner as provided by law; that vQting
12 precinctswl!re properly established; that election officers were
13 appointed and that in all respects said election was held and
14 conducted and the votes cast thereat, received and canvassed and
15 the returns made and declared in time, fo:rm and manner as required
16 by the proviSions of the Elections Code of the State of Califo.rnia
17 for the holding of elections in cities; and
18 WHEREAS, pur13uant to Resolution NO. 3077 adopted the 3,rd
19 day of MarCh, 1970, the City Cle.rk of the Ci ty of Vernon can-
20 vassed the returns of said election and has certified the results
21 to .thisCity Council, said results are received, attached and
22 made a part hereof as "Exhibit A".
23 NOW, THEREFORE, BElT RESOLVED:

SECTION 1:
That there was one (1) voting precinct
25 established for the purpose of hOlding said election consisting
26. of consolidations of the regular election precincts in the City
27 of Vernon as established for the holding of state and county
28 elections.

SECTION 2.
That said regular general municipal election
30 was held for the purpose of electing the following officers of
31 said City as required by laws relating.to cities in the State of
32 California, to wit:

Three members of the City Council of said City for the
full term of four years.
SECTION 3: That the whole number of votes 'cast in
said Ci tywas fifty;...one (51)..
That there were no absent voter ballots
cast in said City.
SECTION 4: That the names of persons voted for at
said election for Member of the City Council of said City are as
follows:
GENEVIEVE ANDERSON
LEONIS C. MALBURG
THOMAS A. YBARRA
That the number of votes given at each
precinct and the number of votes given in the City to ea,ch of
such persons above named for the respective offices for which
said persons were candidates were as listed in "Exhibit Aft
attached.
SECTION 5:
The City Council does declare and determine
that:
GENEVIEVE ANDERSON was elected as Member of the City
Council of said City for the full term of four years;
LEONIS C. MALBURG was elected as Member of the City
Council of saic;lCi ty for the full term of four years; and

THOMAS A. YBARRA, was elected as Member of the City
pOllncil of said City for the full term of four years.
SECTION 6: The City Clerk shall enter on the records

of the, Oity Council of said City, a statement of the result of
said election, showing:
(1) The whole number Gf votes cast in the City;
(2) The names of the persons voted for;
(3) For'what office each person was voted for;
(4) The number of votes given at each precinct to each

(5) The number of votes given in the City to each
person.
SECTION 7:
That the City Clerk shall immediately make
5 and, upon compliance by the persons elected with the provisions
6 of Section 11565 and Section 11568 of the Elections Code of the
7 State of california, shall deliver to each of such persons so
8 elected a Certificate of Election signed by him and duly
9 authenticated; that he shall also administer to each person
10 elected, the Oath of. qfficeprescribed in the State Constitution

SECTION 8:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
