.1 RESOLUTION NO. 3093
2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON, OPPOSING
SENATE BILL 688.

4 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
5 WHEREAS, Senate Bill No. 688 presently under considera-
6 tion by the Legislature of the State of california would levy a
7 tax on every municipally operated electric utility, and is
8 substantially similar to Assembly Bill 908, and
9 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has
10 previously announced its opposition to Assembly Bill 908,

11 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
13 is hereby opposed to Senate Bill No. 688, and urges the Legisla-
14 tureof the State of California to reject said Bill.

SECTION 2- That the City Clerk of the City of vernon
16 shall certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon
17 and thereafter the same shall be in full force and 'effect.
18 ADOPTED and APPROVED this 21st day of April, 1970.
