2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OFVERijON, AUTHORIZ-
ING A NOTICE INVITING BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF FIVE (5) USED 7000
3 H.P. DIESEL ENGINE GENERATOR ASSEMBLIES, AUXILIARIES AND SPARE
PARTS. AND INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS OR BIDS IN ACCORDANCE WITH
4 THIS RESOLUTION.
5 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
6 WHEREAS, there has been presented to the City Council
7 of the City of Vernon the recommendation of Paul P. Hendricks,
8 Consulting Electrical Engineer, said recommendation being that
9 the five (5) used 7000 H.P. Diesel Engine Generator Assemblies,
10 Auxiliaries and Spare Parts be sold to the highest bidder, and
11 WHEREAS, the City CounCil of the City of Vernon has
12 determined that it is in the best interests of the City that said
13 contract be awarded in accordance with applicable City ordinances,
14 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:

SECTION 1: That the recommendation of the Consulting
16 Elec,tricalEngineer of the City of Vernon is hereby approved by
17 the City Council of the City of Vernon.

SECTION 2: That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon
19 is hereby directed to give notice in writing inviting sealed
20 proposals or bids for the purchase of five (5) used 7000 H.P.
21 Diesel Engine Generator Assemblies, Auxiliaries and Spare Parts
~2 in '. accordance with the ;recommendations of the Consulting
23 Electrical En"gineerof the City of Vernon.
24 SECTION 3: 'There being no ,newspape,x- of general circu-
25 lation printed, published or circula.ted'in the City of Vernon,
26 the City Clerk-is hereby directed tdpost said notice, or cause
27 the same to be posted, in, three (3) of the most public places of
28 the City of Vernon, ~q .wit: The nor$.west corner of 38th Street
2'9 and Santa Fe Avenue, the northeast corner of Leonis Boulevard and
30 Pacific Boulevard, and on the bulletin board in the lobby of the
31 City .Hall of the City of Vernon, located at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue
32 in said City.

.1 SECTION. 4:
Tha,t the City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
2 directed to post said notice forthwith and the first posting of
, ,
3 said notice shall be not less tban ten (10) days before the date
4 of opening .bids for the purchase of said items. That said notice
5 shall provide that sealed proposals or bids will be received by
6 the City of vernon, california, at the office of the City Clerk of
7 said City, at the City Hall, 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, until the hour
8 of two (2) o'clock P.M. on the 4th day of August, 1970.
SECTION 5: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall

10 certify to. the passage of this resolution and thereuponlilnd there-
11 after the same shall be in full force and effect.
