RESOLUTION NO. 4013
A RESOLU.TION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON, APPROVING
CONTRACT NO. 355 FOR WATERM.AIN LINING -PHASE IV, AND. GIVING
NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS OR BIDS IN ACCORDANCBWITH
CONTRACT NO. 355 OF THE CITY OF VERNON.
5 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
6 WHEREAS, there has been presented to the City Council of
7 the City of Veraon Contract No. 355 providing for water main
8 lining -Phase IV, and
9 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has
10 deter.ined that it is in the best interests of the City that said
11 contr.ct~be awarded in accordance with applicable State laws,
12 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
13 SECTIONl~. ,T,at 'Cdntract No. 355 is hereby approved by
14 the . Ci ty Councii of the City of Veraon.

SEGTION,2: That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon is

SECTION 3: That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
19 hereby directed to give notice in wri ting inviting sealed pro-
20. posals or bids for water main lining - Phase IV, in.accordance
21 with Contract No. 355, and in accordance with this resolution.

SECTION 4: There being no newspaper of general circula-
23 tion printed, published, or circulated in the City of Vernon, the
24 City Clerk is hereby directed to post said notice, or cause the
25 same to be posted, in three (3) of the most public places in the
26 City of Vernon, to wit: The northwest corner of 38th Street and
27 Santa Fe Avenue, the northeast corner of Leonis Boulevard and
28 Pacific Boulevard, and on. the bulletin board in the lobby of the
29 City Hall in the City of Vernon, located at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue
30 in said City.

SECTION 5: That the City Council has ascertained the
32 prevailing rate of per diem wages in the locality.in which the

work described in Contract No. 355 is to be performed for ea.ch
craft, classification or type of workman needed to execute the
said contract, and that the general prevailing rate of per diem
wages and the general prevailing rate for holiday and overtime
work in flle.localityof the execution of Contract No. 355 for each
craft}lc1aS,$ification or type of workman needed is set forth in
said contract and incorporated by reference at this point for all
purposes as if se;t forth.in f"4lll,and hereby approved by the City

SECTION 6: That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon
11 is directed to .Post, sa'id notice forthwi th,and the first posting
12 of said notice shall be, not less than ten (10) days before the
13 date of opening bids for the proposed work. That said notice
14 shall provide that sealed proposals or bids will be received by
15 the City of Vernon, . California, at the office of the City Clerk
16 of said City, at the City Hall, 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, uatil the
17 hour of two (2) o'clock P.M., on the 20th day of october, 1970,
18 in accordance with Contract No. 355 approved by said City.

SECTION 7: That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon
20 shall certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon
21 and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.

17 for eachspecificatiqn.
18 The construction to be done and the materials to be
19 furnished under said Contract NO. 355 are approximately astollows
20 . Clean and cement mortar line various size water mains
21 at di,fferent locations in the City,. of . Vernon.
:-a 2 The construction shall be in accordance with PlanNQ.
23 WD 1862 and Contract No. 355 heretofore approved by the City
24 Council of said City, and now on file in the office of the City
25 Clerk of said City, a copy of which maybe secured frpm the
26 Director of Public Works.
27 Bidders are l1ereby notified that, pursuant to the
28 provisions of Sections 1770-1781, inclusive, of the Labor Code
29 of the State of California, the City Council of the City of
30 Vernon has ascertained the general prevailing rate of per diem

Plans and Specifications will be returned, which deposit will be
refunded in case same are returned to the City in good condition
not later tha~thirty (30) days after the bids on the work will
have been opened.
The City of Vernon reserves the right to reject any and,
all bids or waive any informality in the bid.
