RESOLUTION NO. 4016
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY .OF VERNON ESTABLISHING FEES FOR BUILDING,
ELECTRICAL, PLUMBING,~ATING, VENTILATING, AIR CONDITIONING AND
REFRIGERATI'QNPERMITS ISSUED BY THE CITY OF VERNON AND FOR
SPECIAL INSPECTIONS FOR CERTIFICATES OF OCCUPANCY AND FOR TEM-
PORARY USE OF.~OMMERCIAL COACHES.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1 :
(a) The fee to be collected for each building,
7 electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilating, air conditioning and
8 refrigeration permit spall be as set forth in Table I-A. This
9 fee shall be collected by the City Clerk and deposited into the
10 general fund of the City of Vernon.
11 The determination of value or valuation may be made by the
12 Superintendent of Building .
13 (b) When a plan is required to be submitted,
14 a plan....checking fee shall be paid to the City Clerk at the time
15 of submi ttingplans and specifications for checking. Said plan-
16 checking fee shall b~ equal to one-half of the permit fee as
17 set forth in Table l..;o.A, but in no case shall be less than $5.00.

(c) In the event that any person shall have
19 obtained a permit granted under subsection (a) provisions, and
20 no portion of the work or construction covered by such permit
21 shall have been conunenced or such permit shall have been
22 cancelled without any work having been done, the permittee,
23 upon presentation to the Superintendent of Building of a request
24 therefor in writing shall be entitled to a refund equal to 80
25 per cent of the fee actually paid for such permit. The Super-
26 intendent of Building shall satisfy himself as to the right of
27 such applicant to such refund, and each such refund shall be
28 paid as provided by law for the payment of claims against the
29 ci ty of Vernon.

SECTION 2: Whenever a special inspection is required to
31 determine compliance with the provisions of the ordinances of
32 the City of Vernon for a Certificate of Occupancy, an inspection

.1 fee shall be collected by the City Clerk as set forth in Table
2 2-A, before the inspection will be made. This inspection fee is
3 in addition to any permit fees that maybe applicable for work
4 required to comply with ci ty ordinances.

SECTION.3:The inspection feerequi~ed prior to temporary
6 use of a commercicU coach shall be $50.00. Electrical and
7 plumbing permit fees for said coach when applicable shall be in
8 addition thereto, and in accordance with Section 1 of this
9 ordinance.

SECTION 4: A fee shall not be required for the issuance
11 of a permit to perform work in a structure designed and used
12 exclusively as an emergency fallout shelter.

SECTION 5: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is hereby
14 directed to certify to the passage of this Resolution, and upon
15 ordinances Nos. 817, 818, 819, 820, and 821 becoming final and
16 in full force and effect; as each of them shall become so final,
17 this Resolution to the extent that it is appropriate, shall be
18 in full force and effect and shall determine the fees applicable
19 for the issuance of the permits under each of the aforesaid
20 ordinances.
