RESOLUTION NO. 4033
2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON, APPROVING
CONTRACT NO, 359 . FOR THE PURCHASE OF A TRACTOR-BACKHOE-LOADER
:3 COMBINATION, AND GIVING NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS OR BIDS
IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO. 359 OF THE CITY OF VERNON.

5 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
6 WHEREAS, there has been presented to the City Council
7 of the City of Vernon Contract No. 359, providing for the pur-
8 chase of a Tractor-Backhoe-Loader Combination, and
9 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has
10 determined that it is in the best interests of the City that
11 said contract be awarded in accordance with applicable State laws,
12 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:

SECTION 1: That said contract is hereby approved by
14 the City Council of the City of Vernon.
15
SECTION 2: That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon
16 is hereby directed to file in his office in the City Hall of the
17 City of Vernon a copy of Contract No. 359.
18
SECTION 3: That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon
19 is hereby directed to give notice in writing inviting sealed
20 proposals or bids for the purchase of a Tractor-Backhoe-Loader
21 Combination in accordance with Contract No. 359, and in
22 accordance with this resolution.

SECTION 4: There being no newpaper of general circula-
24 tion printed, published, or circulated in the City of Vernon,
25 the City Clerk is hereby directed to post said notice, or cause
26 the same to be posted in three (3) of the most public places in
27 the City of Vernon, to wit: The northwest corner of 38th Street
28 and Santa Fe Avenue, the northeast corner of Leonis Boulevard
29 and Pacific Boulevard, and on the bulletin board in the lobby of
30 the City Hall of the City of Vernon, loca~ed at 4305 Santa Fe
31 Avenue in said City.

SECTION 5: That the City Clerk of,the City of Vernon

.1 is directed to post said notice forthwith, and the first posting
2 of said notice shall be not less than ten (10) days before the
3 date of opening bids for the proposed pu~chase. That said notice
4 shall provide that sealed proposals or bids will be received by
5 the City of Vernon,California, at the office of the City Clerk
6 of said City, at the City Hall, 4305 Santa Fe Avenue,until the
7 hour of two (2) o'clock P.M. on the 16th day of March, 1971, in
8 accordance with Contract No. 359 approved by said City.

SECTION 6: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
10 certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and
11 thereafter the same shall be in full force a.nd effect.
12 ADOPTED and APPROVED this 2nd day of March, 1971.

Pursuant to Restilution No. 4033 of the City of Ve;rnon,
adopted on the 2nd day of March, 1971, directing same"notice is
hereby given that sealed proposals or bids will be received by
the City of Vernon, California, at the office of the City>C1erk
of .said City, at the City Hall, 4305 Santa Fe Av~nue, until the
hour of two (2) o'clockP.M., on the 16th day of March, 1971, for
fl.1mishing one Tractor-Backhoe"Loader Combination, in accordance
11 with Contract No. 359 approved by said City. The proposals
12 will be publicly opened and read in the Council Chambers of the
13 City Hall located at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, Vernon, Calit'ornia,
14 on the date and at the time above mentioned. Specifications
15 and contract docwnents may be obtained at the above-menti.oned
16 office of the City Clerk upon payment of a deposit of ten dollars

17 )$10. 00 for each specification.
18 The materials to be furnished under said Contract No. 359
19 are approximately as follows:
20 Furnish and deliver one Tractor-Backhoe-Loader Combination.
21 The purchase shall be in accordance with Contract No. 359
22 heretofore approved by the City Council of said City, and now
2:3 on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City, a copy of
24 which. may be.secured from the Director of Public Works.
25 Notice is/.further hereby given that all bidders may [submit
26 with their bids a sworn statement of their financial responsibilit ,
27 technical ability and experience. Such sworn statement may be
28 required before award is made to any particular bidder.
29 To be entitled tqconsideration, each bid submitted pursuant
30 to this notice shall be made out on a fonnto beobtain.dat.the
