RESOLUTION NO. 4083
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON APPOINTING
A MEMBER OF SAID COUNCIL OF SAID CITY TO THE CITY SELECTION COM-
MITTEE PURSUANT TO PART 3 OF DIVISION 10 OF THE PUBLIC UTILITIES
CODE.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1:
That pursuant to the Southern California
Rapid Transit District Law, being Part 3 of Division 10 of the
Public Utilities Code, ROBERT J. FURLONG t a member of said City
Council of the City of Vernon, is hereby appointed as a member
of the City Selection Committee.
SECTION 2:
That the within Resolution shall become
operative and the appointment made by Section 1 hereof shall be
effective on December 21, 1971.
SECTION 3:
That immediately after the effective date
of the appointment hereby made, the City Clerk of the City of
Vernon shall, without delay, forward a certified copy of this
Resolution, together with notice of the appointment made hereby,
to the Secretary of State of the State of California and also to
the Secretary of the Southern California Rapid Transit District.
SECTION 4:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the adoption of this Resolution, shall cause the
action of the aforesaid City Council in adopting the same to be
entered in the official minutes of said City Council, and shall
retain this Resolution, duly signed and executed by the proper
City officials, in the official records of said City.
ADOPTED and APPROVED this 21st day of December, 1971.

Dear Sir:
This will reply to your letter dated December 22, 1971.
Enclosed is a copy of Resolution No. 4083 of the City Council of the
City of Vernon Appointing a Member of said Council of said City to the
City Selection Committee Pursuant to Part 3 of Division 10 of the
Public Utilities Code. The copy is returned for the following reason:
Section 30210 Public Utilities Code apparently at one time had a
provision for forwarding a certified copy of a resolution of appoint-
ment of members of the city selection committee to the Secretary of
State.
However, Statutes 1967, Chapter 875, Section 1.5 deleted the words "to
the Secretary of State."
Said statute now requires the certified copy to be submitted to the
Secretary of the Southern California Rapid Transit District only.
