1. RESOLUTION No. 4109
2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON AMENDING
RESOLUTION NO. 4060.

4 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
5 ~REAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon by
6 Resolution has approved the Memorandum of Understanding entered
7 into between the Municipal Employer Relations Representative of
8 the City of Vernon and Employee Group 1 and Employee Group 4,
9 as defined in the Employer-Employee Resolution of the City of
10 Vernon, and
11 WHEREAS, in compliance with said Memorandum of Understan-
12 ding, overtime compensation for Firemen should be recomputed
13 based upon the actual number of shifts worked.
14 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:

Section 1: That the last paragraph of Schedule II,
16 commencing with the word "Eligible" and ending 'Vi th the word
17 "earned", of Resolution 4060 of the City of Vernon is hereby
18 deleted.

Section 2: That in lieu of the paragraph stricken as
set forth in Section 1 above, the following is inserted:
Eligible 8-hour Fire Department personnel shall
be paid an hourly rate for such additional work, computed by
dividing the monthly salary of the Employee by twenty (20),
(hereby assuming a twenty (20) day working month in all cases
for accounting purposes) and paying at the rate of one-eighth
(1/8th) of the quotient so obtained for each hour of addi-
tional work.
Eligible 24-hour (shift) personnel shall be paid
an hourly rate for such overtime work, computed by dividing
the monthly salary of the Employee by two hundred forty four
(244) (122 shifts multiplied by 24 hours divided by 12 months
for accounting purposes), and paying at the rate obtained for

.1 each hour of additional overtime work.
2 All overtime pay will be paid on the second (2nd) payday
3 of the month (normally the 22nd) immediately following the
4 month in whim the overtime pay is earned.
Section 3: The provisions of this Resolution shall apply
to all overtime earned by Fire Department personnel on and after
April 1, 1972.
Section 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall remain in full force and effect.
ADOPTED and APPROVED this 18th day of April, 1972.
