RESOLUTION NO. 4123
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON ACCEPTING
THE BID OF J. A. THOMPSON & SON, INC., FOR DISTRICT BOULEVARD
RECONSTRUCTION, DOWNEY ROAD TO ATLANTIC BOULEVARD, IN ACCORDANCE
WITH CONTRACT NO. 367 OF THE, CITY OF VERNON
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, Contract No. 367 was approved by the City
Council of the City of Vernon, pursuant to Resolution No. 4114,
and sealed bids were opened on August 1, 1972, and
WHEREAS, said bids were referred to Robert H. King, Direc-
tor of Public Works, who has reported to the City Council, under
date of August 4, 1972, recommending that that the Contract be
executed with J. A. Thompson & Son, Inc., for the sum of Eight
Hundred Nineteen Thousand Four Hundred Forty Dollars and Twenty
Five Cents ($819,440.25), being the lowest bid within the Contract
requirements,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
18 does hereby award the Contract in accordance with the recommenda-
19 tion of Robert H. King, Director of Public Works, and authorizes
20 the execution of a contract with J. A. Thompson & Son, Inc., in
21 accordance with Contract No. 367 of the City of Vernon.

Section 2: That all other bids are rejected and the
23 City Treasurer is hereby directed to return to unsuccessful bid-
24 ders any cashiers or certified checks deposited with said bids.

Section 3: That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon
26 shall certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and
27 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
28 ADOPTED and APPROVED this 15th day of August, 1972.
