2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON, CALIFORNIA
CONSENTING TO ESTABLISHMENT OF A PORTION OF SLAUSON AVENUE WITHIN
3 SAID CITY AS A PART OF THE SYSTEM OF COUNTY HIGHWAYS OF THE COUNTY
OF LOS ANGELES

5 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
6 WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors did on January 30, 1973,
7 duly adopt a Resolution declaring Slauson Avenue between the San
8 Diego Freeway and La Mirada Boulevard as a part of the System of
9 Highways of the County of Los Angeles, all as provided in Sections
10 1700 to 1704 inclusive, of the Streets and Highways Code of the
11 State of California; and
12 WHEREAS, said Board of Supervisors, by said Resolution,
13 requested this Council to give its consent to modify and intercon-
14 nect traffic control signals and do appurtenant work within said
15 portion described above; and
16 WHEREAS, a report of the impact of the proposed improvements
17 on the environment has now been completed;
18 NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Vernon does
19 resolve as follows:

SECTION 1: Consent to Inclusion in County Highway System.
This City Council does hereby consent to the establishment of
Slauson Avenue between the San Diego Freeway and La Mirada Boulevar
lying in the City of Vernon, as a part of the System of Highways of

the County of Los Angeles as provided in Sections 1700 to l704 in-
25

clusive, of the
Said consent is for the purpose of modification and interconnection
of traffic control signals and performance of appurtenant work by
the County of Los Angeles.
SECTION 2: Approval of Exemption Declaration. This City
Council does hereby approve the Exemption Declaration dated
January 12, 1973.
SECTION 3: Effect on Environment. This City Council does

1 hereby find that:
2 The project has no significant effect on the environment.

SECTION 4: Finding of a Minor Nature. This City Council
4 does hereby find that pursuant to Government Code, Section 65402(b),
5 the aforesaid improvement is for street improvements of a minor
6 nature and, therefore, the provisions of said Section requiring the
7 submission to and report upon said project by the City Planning
8 Agency do not apply.

SECTION 5: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall cer-
10 tify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and thereafter
11 the same shall be in full force and effect.
