1 RESOLUTION NO. 4169
2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON ACCEPTING
THE BID OF GEORGE MILLER CONSTRUCTION COMPANY FOR MANHOLE BOTTOM
3 RECONSTRUCTION IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO. u372 OF THE CITY
OF VERNON

5 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
6 WHEREAS, Contract No. 372 of the City of Vernon was
7 approved by the City Council of the City of Vernon pursuant to
8 Resolution No. 4162, and sealed bids were opened on the 3rd day
9 of July, 1973, and
10 WHEREAS, said bids were referred to ARTHUR E. NELSON, JR.
11 Director of Public Works who has reported to the City Council
12 under date of July 11, 1973, recommending that the Contract be
13 executed with George Miller Construction Company for the sum of
14 Fourteen Thousand Eight Hundred Five Dollars ($14,805.00), being
15 the lowest bid meeting the Contract requirements,
16 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
17 SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
18 does hereby award the Contract in accordance with the recommenda-
19 tion of ARTHUR E. NELSON, JR., Director of Public Works, and
20 authorizes the execution of a contract with George Miller Construc
21 tion Company in accordance with Contract No. 372 of the City of
22 Vernon.

SECTION 2: That all other bids are rejected and the
24 City Treasurer is hereby directed to return to unsuccessful bid-
25 ders any cashiers or certified checks deposited with said bids.

SECTION 3: That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon
27 shall certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon
28 and thereafter the same shall be in fiu1l force and effect.
