2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON ACCEPTING
THE BID OF VERNON- PAVING COMPANY FOR 25th-26th. STREET INTERSECTION
3 RECONSTRUCTION IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO. 332 OF THE CITY OF
VERNON

5 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

WHEREAS, Contract No. 332 of the City of Vernon was
7 approved by the City Council of the City of Vernon, pursuant to
8 Resolution No. 4137 and sealed bids were opened on the 7th day of
9 August, 1973, and
10
WHEREAS, said bids were referred to ARTHUR E. NELSON,4R.
11 Director of Public WOrks, who has reported to the City Council
12 under date of August 16, 1973, recommending that the Contract be
13 executed with VERNON PAVING COMPANY, for the sum of Ninety One
14 Thousand Five Hundred One Dollars ($91,501.00), being the lowest
15 bid meeting the contract requirements, and
16
WHEREAS, a portion of the funds for payment to said con-
17 tractor are provided for under Federal Aid Project T-304l (196),
18 LA-DOT(H)-7-73-257, 07-I.,A-O-VERN and the approval of the Federal
-
19 Highway Administration for the allocation of said funds has not yet
20 been received,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:

SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
23 does hereby award the Contract in accordance with the recommenda-
24 tion of ARTHUR E. NELSON, JR., Director of Public Works, conditionel
25 on and subj ect to the approval of the Federal Highway AdministratioI,
26 and authorized the execution of a contract with VERNON PAVING COM-
27 PANY, subject to said Federal Highway Administration approval and
28 in accordance with Contract No. 332 of the City of Vernon.
SECTION 2: That all other bids are rejected and the

30 City Treasurer is hereby directed to return to unsuccessful bidders
31 any cashiers or certified checks deposited with said bids.

SECTION 3: That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon

~ shall certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and
2 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
