RESOLUTION NO. 4200
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF VERNON ESTABLISHING FEES FOR BUILDING,
ELECTRICAL, PLUMBING, HEATING, VENTIlATING,. AIR CONDITIONING AND
REFRIGERATION PERMITS ISSUED BY THE CITY OF VERNON AND FOR
SPECIAL INSPECTIONS BY REQUEST OR FOR CERTIFICATES OF OCCUPANCY
AND FOR TEMPORARY USE OF COMMERCIAL COACHES.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: (a) The fee to be collected for each
building, electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilating, air condi-
tioning and refrigeration pemit shall be as set forth in Table l-A.
This fee shall be collected by the City Clerk and deposited into
the general fund of the City of Vernon.
The determination of value or valuation may be made by
the Director of Public WOrks.
(b) When a plan is required to be submitted, a p1an-
checking fee shall be paid to the City Clerk at the time of
submitting plans and specifications for checking. Said p1an-
checking fee shall be equal to sixty-five percent (65%) of the
permit fee as set forth in Table l-A, but in no case shall be less
than Five Dollars ($5.00).
(c) The fees collected, as set forth above, shall in-
clude fees collected for the Strong-Motion Instrumentation Program
of the State of California, as set forth in Chapter 8 of Division

Vernon is hereby directed to remit the portion of the fees allo-
cable for the Strong-Motion Instrumentation Program to the State
of California in accordance with said Chapter.
(d) In the event that any person shall have obtained a
27 permit granted under Subsection (a) provisions, and no portion of
28 the work or construction covered by such permit shall have been
29 commenced, or such permit shall have been cancelled without any
30 work having been done, the permittee, upon presentation to the
31 Director of Public Works, of a request therefor, in writing, shall
32 be entitled to a refund equal to eighty percent (80%) of the fee

1 actually paid for such permit. The Director of Public Works
2 shall satisfy himself as to the right of such applicant to such
3 refund, and each such refund shall be paid as provided by law for
4 the payment of claims against the City of Vernon.

SECTION 2: Whenever a special inspection is required
or requested to determine compliance with the provisions of the
Ordinances of the City of Vernon or for a Certificate of Occupancy,
an inspection fee shall be collected by the City Clerk as set
forth in Table 2-A, before the inspection will be made. This in-
spection fee is in addition to any permit fees that may be appli-
cable for work required to comply with City ordinance.
SECTION 3: The inspection fee required prior to tem-
porary use of a commercial coach shall be Fifty Dollars ($50.00).
Electrical and plumbing permit fees for said coach, when applicable
shall be in addition thereto and in accordance with SECTION 1 of
this Resolution.
SECTION 4: A fee shall not be required for the issuance
of a permit to perform work in a structure designed and used
exclusively as an emergency fallout shelter.
SECTION 5: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
hereby directed to certify to the passage of this Resolution, and
following said certification, said Resolution shall be in full
force and effect, commencing April 15, 1974, and thereafter the
fees applicable for the issuance of the permits, under Ordinances
Nos. 819, 821, 844, 845 and 846 shall be as set forth in this
Resolution.
SECTION 6: Resolution No. 4102 is hereby repealed,
effective April 15, 1974.
