RESOLUTION NO. 4204
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY' COUNCIL OF THE CIn OF VEDON DPRESSIBG
ITSCORDOLEBCES UPOM THE PASSING OF MAYOR ROBOT J. FURLOBG
THE CITY COUNCIL OF mE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

WHIREAS, ROBERT J. FUliLONG, Mayor of the City of Vernon,
6 passed away Oil January 21, 1974, and
WHDEAS, I.OBD.T J. FlJlU.ONG has tendered many years of
8 valuable service to the City of Vemon, being appointed a Council-
9 man on .June 17, 1941, leaving for military service in 1942, and
10 then being reappointed as a Councilman in November of 1946, and
WHEREAS, ROBERT J. FURLONG was subsequently elected as
12 Mayor of the City Council of the City of Vernon on April 20, 1948,
13
and served continuously as Mayor tlD.til the date of his death, and
'WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vemon and all
15
of its Residents, Businesses and Inhabitants feel the great loss
16
caused by the pas.sing of ROBERT J. FURLONG, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon expresses
18
its deep condolences to the surviving relatives, to wit: his
19
three Sisters MARY FURLONG CHU.MBREK, CATHERINE FURLONG and MARTHA
FURLONG TAVERNELLI,
NOW, THEREFORE. BE IT RESOLVED:
SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Vemon,
on behalf of the entire City, mourns the passing of ROBERT J.
FUlUDNG and expresses its condolences to the many bereaved parties.
BEeTIO. 2: That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon be
and he is hereby directed to forward a copy of this Resolution to
each of t.he t.hree Sisters of ROBEllT J. FURLONG, to wit.: KAB.Y
FURLONG CHlJMBREK, CATBD.IBE FURLONG and MARTHA FURLONG TAVlRHELLI.
SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify t.o the passage of t.his Resolution and thereupon and
