1 RESOLUTION NO. 4213
2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON ADOPTING
AN ENCROACHMENT FEE AND DEPOSIT SCHEDULE WHICH SHALL APPLY TO ALL
3 ENCROACHMENT PERMITS ISSUED PURSUANT TO ORDINANCE NO. 796.
4 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
5 WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 796 specifies that the City Coun-
6 cil of the City of Vernon shall, from time to time, establish a
7 schedule wherein fees and deposits are specified:
8 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
9 SECTION 1: That a permit issuance fee, payable prior to
10 the issuance of a permit, shall be made in the amount of ten
11 dollars ($10.00).

SECTION 2: That in addition to an issuance fee, permit
13 fees and charges calculated to the nearest dollar shall be
14 required as follows:

A. Inspection fees:
Regular time (8 A.M. - 4:30 P.M.)
Overtime-Saturdays, Sundays, Holidays

Curb and/or gutter
Paving, sidewalk, driveway

F. All other direct costs to the City resulting from
the permittee's activity, calculated at actual cost
plus administrative costs of ten per cent (10%)
G. All pavement shall be rer.laced with an equivalent
section plus one inch (1')
SECTION 3: That the following exemptions to SECTION 1
and SECTION 2 shall apply:
A. Utility companies and governmental agencies making
application for a permit shall not be required to
make prior payment of issuance fees or make deposits.
The preclusion of deposits and prior payments of
fees, however, does not relieve a utility company
or governmental agency from making prompt payment
of fees upon presentation of a City invoice.
Contractors or others making application on behalf
of a utility company or governmental agency shall
not be relieved of the deposit requirement or prior
payment of fees.
B. The City of Vernon Water Department shall not be
required to pay permit fees inasmuch as costs for
permit services are accounted for internally by the
City Departments.
C. No inspection charges or permit fees shall be made
for the inspection of the construction of new curb,
gutter, sidewalk and roadway.
SECTION 4: That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon
shall certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 19th day of February, 1974.

Ladies and Gentlemen:
Herewith for your consideration in accordance with
Ordinance 796 isa new permit fee schedule. The
proposed permit fee schedule replaces permit fees
established under Resolution No. 2981 adopted on
September 17, 1968.
It is recommended that the new permit fee schedule
be approved.
