RESOLUTION NO. 4256
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON FIXING THE
TIME AND PlACE OF HEARING, AND PRESCRIBING NOTICE TO BE GIVEN, AND
DECIARING A NEWSPAPER OF GENERAL CIRCULATION WITHIN THE CITY OF
VERNON, FOR A HEARING ON A PETITION FOR ZONE VARIANCE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
That the City Council of the City of Vernon finds that there
is no local newspaper published within the City of Vernon, and
that the Los Angeles Daily Journal is a daily newspaper of general
circulation within the City of Vernon.
That the Notice of Hearing on the provision for variance of
Los Angeles By-Products. Co., be noticed by publication not less
than three (3) times in the Los Angeles Daily Journal and the
first publication shall be at least ten (10) days prior to the datE
of hearing set herein.
That Notice shall also be given by mailing a post card
notice containing the same information as the published Notice
not less than five (5) days prior to the date of hearing to all
owners within a radius of three hundred feet (300') of the pro-
perty for which a variance is requested.
That the 2nd day of July, 1974, at the hour of 1:l5 o'clock
P. M., in the Council Chamber of the City Council of the City of
Vernon in the City Hall, located at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, in the
City of Vernon, California, is the time and the place set for
hearing on the petition for a variance.
That the name of the applicant is LOS ANGELES BY-PRODUCTS
CO., and that the address of the applicant is 2910 South Alameda
Street, Vernon, California 90058.
That the legal description of the property for which the
variance is requested is as follows:
That portion of Lot l, Tract
26751 in the City of Vernon, County of
Los Angeles, State of California, as per
map recorded in Book 679, pages 72, 73, and
74 of Maps, in the office of the County Re-
corder of said County, lying westerly of the

following described line:
Beginning at a point in the
northerly line of said Lot 1 said
point being distant south 893 45' 00"
west 314.07' from the northeasterly
corner of said lot; thence south in a
direct line to a point in the southerly
line of said lot, said point being distant
south 890 42' 35fJ west 303.49' from the
southeasterly corner of said lot, containing
an area of 60.l17 square feet, more or less.
Said parcel of land is situated on the east side of Alameda
Street, the address being 2910 South Alameda in the City of
Vernon, California.
A public hearing on the above matter will be held before
the City Council of the City of Vernon on the 2nd day of July,
1974, at l:l5 o'clock P. M., in the Council Chamber of the City
of Vernon, in the City Hall, located at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue,
Vernon, California 90058, at which time anyone interested will
be heard.
The purpose of said petition for variance and hearing
thereon is to allow a use upon said property as a chemical 1abora-
tory.
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall certify to the
passage of this Resolution and thereupon and thereafter the same
shall be in full force and effect.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 4th day of June, 1974
