A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON EXPRESSING
ITS CONDOLENCES UPON THE DEATH OF ROBERT H. BOCKHACKER" POLICE
CHIEF OF THE CITY OF VERNON, AND EXPRESSING ITS APPRECIATION Foa
HIS DEVOTED WORK AS A MEMBEa OF THE VERNON POLICE DEPAltTMENT
THE CITY COUl'CIL OF THE CITY OF VDNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, ROBIJ.'l' H. BOCKBACKER died on Wednesday, November 21,
1914, at the City of Hope, and
WlIDEAS, ROBERT H. BOCKHAClEll was employed by the City of
Vernon as a motorcycle officer in the Vernon Police Department
on September 4, 1949 and, with the exception of time served in
the armed forces of the United States during the Korean conflict,
has c.ontinually lerved tbe City of Vernon. ROBERT H. BOCKHACKEll
was promoted to sergeant, then lieutenant and, eventually, appoin-
ted al acting Police Chief on April 1, 1954, and then as Police
Chief of the City of Vernon in October of that year. I.OBEaT H.
BOCKHACKER hal well served the City of Vernon as its Police Chief
for over 20 years, and
WHEREAS. the City of Vernon expresses its condolences and
regrets upon the passing of ROBERT H. BOCKHACKER, and wishes the
f_ilyo! ROBEaT H. BOCKHACKER to know its great concem and sympathy
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
greatly rearets tbe passing of ROBERT H. BOCKHACKERo
SECtION 2: That the City Clerk of tbe City of Vernon is bere-
by instructed to forward a copy of this Resolution to DOROTHY
BOCKHACI<EI., wife of ROBERT H. BOCKHACKEa, and to express the
City's regrets and concern to tbe family of ROBERT H. BOCKBACKER.
SECTION 3: That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and there-
after the same shall be in full force and effect.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 11th day of December, 1914.
