A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON REQUESTING
.AN ADDITION TOTJIE FEDERAL-AID, URBAN SYSTEM (INDlAHA STREET)
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

WHEREAS, in order for a p~~ject to be approved for the
"
use of Federal-Aid Urban funds, it must be included in the
Federal-Aid Urban System; and
WHEREAS, Section 148 of the 1973 Highway Act requires
the Federal-Aid systems realignment be based upon anticipated
functional usage in the year 1980;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
proposes that the street shown on the Federal-Aid System. Form No.
OLA 164, attached hereto and marked Exhibit "1", shall be inc luded
in the 1980 usage study.
SECTION 2: That the Federal Highway .Administration be
requested to approve inclusion of the street in the Federal-Aid
Urban System.
SECTION 3: That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon
shall certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.

Gentlemen:
The State Department of Trahsportation is processing
Federal-Aid, Urban Projects in anticipation that they
will be in the Los Angeles County Th.ree Year Program.
Before F.H~W~A. approval, streets on which. project
is proposed must be included in the Federal-Aid Urban
System.
It is recommended that Indiana Street from South City
Boundary to ,Washington Boulevard be ineluded in the
1980 usage study and the Federal Highway Administration
be requested to approve inclusion of Indiana Street in
the Federal-Aid Urba~System.
It is further recommended that a resolution to that
effect be approved by the City Council.
