RESOLUTION NO. 4311
2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON SUPPORTING
ox THE DESIGNATION OF RECIPIENT FOR FEDERAL ASSISTANCE AS REqUIRED BY
oJ THE MASS TRANSPORTATION ASSISTANCE ACT OF 1974
4 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

WHEREAS, the National Mass Transportation Assistance Act
6 of 1974 (the Act) provides a new program of Federal assistance to
7 urban mass transportation systems which will permit authorized
8 grants to be used for capital or operating assistance; and
9
WHEREAS, the Community-Municipal Public Transit Operators,
10 the West Valley Transit Service Authority, the Southern California
11 Rapid Transit District and the Orange County Transit District are
12 entering into a joint powers agreement to comply with the provisio
13 of Section 5 of the Act for the purpose of receiving the approved
14 funds;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
SECTION 1: That the City of Vernon does hereby declare
supports the designation of recipient as agreed to by the
18 Community-Municipal Public Transit Operators, the West Valley Tran-
19 sit Service Authority, the Southern California Rapid Transit Distri t
20 and the Orange County Transit District.

SECTION 2: That a certified copy of this Resolution shall
22 be forwarded to appropriate parties and agencies within the State
23 of California.

SECTION 3: That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon sha1

certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and there-
26 after the same shall be in full force and effect.
