RESOLUTION NO. 4356
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON, CALIFOR-
NIA, CONSENTING TO THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY TO THE
CITY OF VERNON WHICH IS NOW PART OF. THE CITY OF LOS ANGELES, CALI-
FORNIA
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, the City of Los Angeles consents to the de-
tachment of the following described territory in accordance with
the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, being Article
5, Chapter 1, Part 2, Division 2, Title 4 of the Government Code;
and
WHEREAS, the territory hereinafter described is a 1.27
acre portion of a 13 acre ownership which is mostly within the
City of Vernon; and
WHEREAS, the owners of said territory have requested
the adjustment of the common boundary to place all of their owner-
ship into one municipal jurisdiction; and
WHEREAS, said territory is uninhabited as defined in
said Act; and
WHEREAS, it would not be in conflict with the public
interest or the interest of either the City of Los Angeles or the
City of Vernon if said territory were to be detached from the City
22 of Los Angeles and annexed to the City of Vernon;
23 NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Vernon,
24 California, does hereby resolve as follows:
SECTION 1: That pursuant to Section 35304 of the
Government Code, the City Council of the City of Vernon, California,
hereby consents to the Annexation of the following described ter-
ritory which is to be detached by the City of Los Angeles, to wit:
"Those portions of Lots 7, 9, 11, 13, 15 17, 19, 21,
23, 25, 27, 29 and 31 all of Block 11, B. M. Ame's Subdivision
of the Glassell Tract, per map recorded in Book 23, page 73 of
Miscellaneous Records in the office of the County Recorder of
Los Angeles County, together with that portion of that certain
strip of land 100 feet wide shown on said map as California
Central Right of Way bounded and described as a whole as
follows:

1 "Beginning at the intersection of the northwesterly
line of the southeasterly 17 feet of said strip of land
2 100 feet wide with that certain Los Angeles City boundary
line established August 29, 1859; thence northeasterly
:3 along said northwesterly line to the westerly prolongation
of the northerly lines of said lots; thence easterly along
4 said westerly prolongation and along said northerly lines
to the easterly line of said Lot 31; thence southerly along
5 said easterly line to said City boundary line; thence
westerly along said City boundary line to the point of
6 beginning."

SECTION 2: That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon
8 shall certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and
9 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
