Resolution No. 4360 ",~ ....<a .' , .. .. 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 :32 ~ 1 2 :3 4 5 6 7 8 RESOLUTION NO. 4360 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON APPROVING CONTRACT NO. 399 AND AUTHORIZING NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS OR BIDS FOR STREET SWEEPING IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO. 399 OF THE CITY OF VERNON THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: WHEREAS, there has been presented to the City Council of the City of Vernon, Contract No. 399 for Street Sweeping; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has determined that it is in the best interests of the City of Vernon that said Contract be awarded in accordance with applicable state 9 laws; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: SECTION 1: That Contract No. 399 is hereby approved by-the City Council of the City of Vernon. SECTION 2: That the City Clerk of the City of V~rnon .:Ls hereby directed to file in his office at the City Hall of the City of Vernon a copy of Contract No. 399. SECTION 3: That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon is hereby directed to give Notice, in writing, inviting sealed pro- posals or bids for Street Sweeping, in accordance with Contract No. 399 and in accordance with this Resolution. SECTION 4: There being no newspaper of general circula- tion printed, published or circulated in the City of Vernon, the City Clerk is hereby directed to post said Notice, or cause the same to be posted, in three (3) of the most public places in the City of Vernon, to wit: the northwest corner of 38th Street and Santa Fe Avenue, the northeast corner of Leonis Boulevard and Pacific Boulevard, and on the bulletin board in the lobby of the City Hall of the City of Vernon, located at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue in said City. SECTION 5: The City Council of the City of Vernon has ascertained that the general prevailing rate of per diem wages -1- ~ '~ . 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 :32 .. 1 2 :3 4 5 6 7 8 9 and the rates for legal holidays and for overtime work in the locality in which the work is to be performed, described in Contract No. 399, for each craft or type of worman or mechanic needed to execute the Contract, which will be awarded to the successful bidder, and that the general prevailing rate of per diem wages and rates for legal holidays, for overtime work in the locality of the execution of Contract No. 399, for each craft, classification or type of workman or mechanic needed is set forth in said Contract and incorporated by reference at this point for all purposes as if set forth in full and hereby ap- proved by the City Council of the City of Vernon. SECTION 6: That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon is hereby directed to post said Notice forthwith and the first posting of said Notice shall be not less than ten (10) days before the opening of bids for the proposed work. That said Notice shall provide that sealed proposals or bids will be received by the City of Vernon, California, at the Office of the City Clerk of said City at the City Hall, 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, Vernon CA 90058, until the hour of two (2) o'clock P.M., on the 21st day of October, 1975, and in accordance with Contract No. 399 approved by said City. SECTION 7: That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect. The proposals will be publicly opened and read in the Council Chamber of the City Hall located at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, Vernon, California, on the date and at the time above mentioned. Specifications and contract documents may be obtained at the above mentioned office of the City Clerk upon payment of a deposit of ten dollars ($10.00) for each specification. The work to be done and materials to be furnished under said Contract No. 399 are approximately as follows: Provide routine street sweeping for all public streets in the City of Vernon Provide extraordinary street sweeping in the City of Vernon. " 1 Bidders are hereby notified that, pursuant to the 2 provisions of Sections 1770-1781, inclusive, of the Labor Code 3 of the State of California, the City Council of the City of 4 Vernon has ascertained the general prevailing rate of per diem 5 wages and rates for legal holidays and for overtime work in the 6 locality in which this work is to be performed, for each craft or 7 type of workman or mechanic needed to execute the contract which 8 will be awarded to the successful bidder, and that Resolution 9 No. 4360 , of the City of Vernon establishes said rates, and 10 is on file with the City Clerk of the City of Vernon. 11 Notice is further hereby given that all bidders may 12 submit with, their bids a sworn statement of their financial 13 responsibility, technical ability and experience.
