2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON ACCEPTING
THE BID OF GRIFFITH COMPANY FOR WASHINGTON BOULEVARD AND ALAMEDA

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS. Contract No. 397 of the City of Vernon was
approved by the City Council of the City of Vernon. pursuant to
Resolution No. 4365 and also pursuant to Resolution No. 4368
approving Addendum No. 1 to Contract No. 397 for Washington
Boulevard and Alameda Street Resurfacing and Amending Resolution
No. 4365. and sealed bids were opened on November 18. 1975; and
WHEREAS, said bids were referred to ARTHUR E. NELSON, JR.,
Director of Public Works. Who has reported to the City Council
under date of November 21, 1975, recommending that the Contract
for Washington Boulevard and Alameda Street Resurfacing be
executed with Griffith Company, on the basis of their bid in the
sum of Seventeen Thousand Five Hundred Thirty Five Do lIar s and
Forty Cents ($17,535.40), being the lowest bid meeting the
Contract requirements;
NOW. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:

SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
does hereby award the Contract in accordance with the recommen-
dation of ARTHUR E. NELSON, JR., Director of Public Works.
SECTION 2: That all other bids are rejected and the
City Treasurer is hereby directed to return to unsuccessful bid-
ders any cashiers or certified checks deposited with said bids.
SECTION 3: That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon
shall certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon
and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 2nd day of December, 1975.
