A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY" COINCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON AtmlORIZING
tHE DESTRUCTION OF CERTAIN CITY RECORDS, DOCUMENTS, INSTRUMENTS,
BOOKS AND PAPERS, PtJRSUAIT TO GOVERlHENT CODE SECTION 34090

TIlE CITY COINCIL OF THE CITY OF VEOON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

WHEREAS. the City Clerk of the City of Vernon. under
date of J'anuaJ:'y 9, 1976, has recoDl11ended that certain records,
ciocuments, instruments., books and papers under his char~e and
under the charge of other department heads be destroyed, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon finds that

none of the foregoing records affect the title to real property,
or liens thereon. and
WHEREAS'H the City Council of the City of Vernon finds that
none of said-records are court records nor are records required
to be kept by statute, and that the same are more than seven years

old, and that none of said records are minutes, ordinances, or
resolutions of the legislative body of the City of Vernon.. and
WHEREAS. the written consent of the City Attorney and the
18 heads of each ,.' appropriate City Department to the destruction of

such records have been obtained,
NOW. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
does hereby authorize the destruction by the departme~t head in
charge of said records, without making a copy thereof.
SECTION 2: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
finds that the same are no longer required for any purposes of the
City of Vemon.
SECTION 3: That the records. doc1.1lDents. instruments. books
or papers to be destroyed are as follows; all for the calendar
year 1968:
Cancelled Checks - General Fund
Cancelled Payroll Checks
Demands ' .
