' RESOLUTION NO. 4389 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON COMMENDING EDWIN MARES UPON HIS RETIREMENT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: WHEREAS, EDWIN MARES has been emp loyed by the City of Vernon since July 6, 1950 and is retiring as a Utilityman II effective February 25, 1976, and WHEREAS, EDWIN MARES has skillfully served the City of Vernon for almost 26 years and his contributions to the City and his presence will be sorely missed, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Vernon does hereby commend EDWIN MARES for his many years of service to tbe City of Vernon. SECTION 2: That ~he City Council of tbe City of Vernon wishes EDWIN MARES continued success in whatever endeavors be may undertake. SECTION 3: Tbat the City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect. Lf3~7 ~ Herewith is letter dated February 2, 1976 from Edwin Mares, Utilityman II, advis~ng that he plans to retire from service with the City effective close of the working day, February 25, 1976, on his sixtieth birthday anniversary. Mr. Mares began working for the City on July 6, 1950 as a semi-skilled laborer at the rate of $9.00 per day. He has served the City well for over twenty five years.
