WllEDAS, LIBRac. HUSTO was employed by the City of
Vernon from April 7. 1927. _til .June 30. 1971. and
WBEUAS. LUTD. C. HUSTED retired from the City of
VemOll as its Fire Chief on June 30, 1971. having been promoted
to that poSition on August 1. 1953. and
WIIEIB4S. as said Fire Chief, LESTIlt C. HUSTED directed
the Vernon Fire Department to a point where it achieved national
recognition. and
WIIEIB4S.J.ESTlR C. BUSTED passed awa,. on March 19. 1976.
HOW'. TBIBFOII, BE IT DSOLVD:
SECTIQN 1: That the City Co_cil of the City of Vernon
expresses its condolences upon the passing of LESTERC. HUSTED
and wishes to live recognition for his many contributions to 'both
the City of Vernon and to Fire Departments in general.
IBCTIO. .2: That the City Colmcil of the City of Vernon
instructs the City Clerk of the City of Vernon to send a copy of
this Resolution to Mrs. Lester C. Husted. and family.
.ICTIOI :3: Th. City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the paasq. of this Jlesolution and thereupon and there-
after the same shall be in full force and effect.
