BESOLUTION NO. 4401
A BESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON APPROVING
CONTRACT NO. 401 AND AUTHORIZING NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS
OR BIDS FOR COMMUNICATIONS EQUIPMENT.FOR THE VERNON CITY HALL AND
POLICE FACILITY IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO. 401 OF. THE CITY
OF VERNON
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON BESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, there has been presented to the City Council of
the City of Vernon, Contract No. 401 for Communications Equipment
for the Vernon City Hall and Police Facility, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has deter-
mined that it is in the best interests of the City of Vernon that
said Contract be awarded in accordance with applicable state laws;
NOW, THEREFOBE, BE IT BESOLVED:
SECTION 1: That Contract No. 401 is hereby approved by the
City Council of the City of Vernon.
15 SECTION 2: That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
16 hereby directed to file in his office at the City Hall of the City
17 of Vernon a copy of Contract No. 401.
18 SECTION 3: That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
19 hereby directed to give Notice, in writing, inviting sealed pro-
20 posals or bids for Communications Equipment for the Vernon City
21 Hall and Police Facility, in accordance with Contract No. 401, and
22 in accordance with this Resolution.

SECTION 4: There being no newspaper of general circulation
printed, published or circulated in the City of Vernon, the City
Clerk is hereby directed to post said Notice, or cause the same
to be posted, in three (3) of the most public places in the City
of Vernon, to wit: the northwest corner of 38th Street and Santa
Fe Avenue, the northeast corner of Leonis Boulevard and Pacific
Boulevard, and on the bulletin board in the lobby of the City
Hall of the City of Vernon, located at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue in
311 said City.
32 SECTION 5: The City Council of the City of Vernon has

1 ascertained that the general prevailing rate of per diem wages
2 and the rates for legal holidays and for overtime work in the
3 locality in which the work is to be perfermed, described in
4 Contract No. 401, for each craft or type of workman or mechanic
5 needed to execute the Contract, which will be awarded to the
6 successful bidder, and that the general prevailing rate of per
7 diem wage's and rates for legal holidays, for overtime work in
8 the locality of the execution of Contract No. 401, for each
9 craft, classification or type of workman or mechanic needed is
10 set forth in said Contract and incorporated by reference at this
11 point for all purposes as if set forth in full and hereby approved
12 by the City Council of the City of Vernon.
13 SECTION 6: That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
14 hereby directed to post said Notice forthwith and the first
15 posting of said Notice shall be not less than ten (10) days before
16 the opening of bids for the proposed work. That said Notice shall
17 provide that sealed proposals or bids will be received by the
18 City of Vernon, California, at the Office of the City Clerk of
19 said City at the City Hall, 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, Vernon CA 90058,
20 until the hour of 2:00 o'clock P.M., on the 4th day of May, 1976,
21 and in accordance with Contract No. 401 approved by said City.
22 SECTION 7: That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
23
certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and there-
after the same shall be in full force and effect.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED THIS 6th day of April, 1976.

4 Pursuant to Resolution No. 4401 of the City of Vernon,
5 adopted on the 6th day of April, 1976, directing same, notice is
6 hereby given that sealed proposals or bids will be received by the
7 City of Vernon, California, at ,the office of the City Clerk of
8 said City, at the City Hall, 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, until the hour
9 of two (2) o'clock P.M., on the 4th day of May, 1976, for

10 Communications Equipment for the Vernon City Hall and Police
11 Facility, in accordance with Contract No. 401, approved by said
12 City. The proposals will be publicly opened and read in the
13 Council Chamber of the City Hall located at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue,
14 Vernon, California, on the date and at the time above mentioned.
15 Specifications and contract documents may be obtained at the
16 above-mentioned office of the City Clerk upon payment of a deposit
17 of Twenty-Five dollars ($25.00) for each specification.

21 Complete closed circuit television surveillance system;
22 Surveillance intercom for the j ail area and door speakers;
23 Intercom system and records room alert;
24 Integrated ceiling speaker system;
25 Information retrieval unit;
26 Council Chamber sound system;
27 Pistol range public address system;
28 Prisoner/visitor telephone system;
29 Interrogation room monitors and recorder;
30 Educational television antenna system;
31 Records room window intercom, alarm system and jailer's
32 and record room console;

Bidders are hereby notified that, pursuant to the provisions I

of Sections 1770-1781, inclusive, -of the Labor Code of the State i

Notice is further hereby given that all bidders may submit
with their bids a sworn statement of their financial responsibi1it,
technical ability and experience. Such sworn statement may be
required before award is made to any particular bidder.
To be entitled to consideration, each bid submitted pursuant
to this Notice shall be made out on a form to be obtained at the
Office of the Director of Public Works, shall be accompanied by a
certified check, draft, or bid bond, payable at a bank authorized
to do business in the State of California, made payable at sight
to the City Clerk of the City of Vernon, in an amount equal to
ten per cent (10%) of the bid submitted, shall be delivered to the
