RESOLUTION NO. 4402
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON APPROVING
CONTRACT NO. 403 AND AUTHORIZING NOTICE INVITING SEAL Ell PROPOSA.LS
OR BIDS FOR FURNITURE .AND ACCESSORIES FOR VERNON CITY HALL AND
POLICE FACILITY IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO.' 403 OF~nE CITY
OF VERNON
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, there has been presented to the ~i~y Couneil of
the City of Vernon, Contraet No. 403 for Furniture and Aeeessories
for Vernon City Hall and Poliee Facility. and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has deter-
mined that it is in the best interests of the City of Vernon that
said Contract be awarded in accordance with applicable. state laws;
NOW, THEREF0RE, BE IT RESOLVED:
SECTION 1: That Contract: No. 403 is hereby approved by the
City Council of the Cit:y of Vernon.
SECTION 2: That: the City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
hereby directed to file in his office at the City Hall of the City
of Vernon a copy of Contract No. 403.
18 SECTION 3: That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
19 hereby directed to give Not:ice, in writing, inviting sealed pro-
20 posals or bids for Furniture and Accessories for the Vernon City
21 Hall and Police Facility, in accordance with Contract No. 403, and
22 in accordance with this Resolution.
23 SECTION 4: There being no newspaper of general circulation

24 printed, published or circulated in the City of Vernon, the City
25, Clerk is hereby directed to post said Notice. or cause the same

261 to be posted, in three (3) of the most public places in the City

27 of Vernon, to wit: the northwest corner of 38th Street and Santa
28 Fe Avenue, the northeast corner of Leonis Boulevard and Pacific
29 Boulevard, and on the bulletin board in the lobby of the City
30 Hall of the City of Vernon, located at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue in

SECTION 5: The City Council of the City of Vernon has

ascertained that the general prevailing rate of per diem wages
and the rates for legal holidays and for overtime work in the
locality in Which the work is to be performed, described in
Contract No. 403, for each craft or type of workman or mechanic
needed to execute the Contract, Which will be awarded to the
successful bidder, and that the general prevailing rate of per
diem wages and rates for legal holidays, for overtime work in
the locality of the execution of Contract No. 403, for each
craft, classification or type of workman or mechanic needed is
set forth in said Contract and incorporated by reference at this
point for all purposes as if set forth in full and hereby approved
by the City Council of the City of Vernon.
SECTION 6: That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
hereby directed to post said Notice forthwith and the first

until the hour of two (2) o'clock P.M., on the 20th day of April, I

SECTION 7:
That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and there-
after the same shall be in full force and effect.

SORIES FOR VERNON CITY HALL AND POLICE FACILITY IN ACCORDANCE WITH
CONTRACT NO. 403' OF THE CITY OF VERNON '
Pursuant to Resolution No. 4402 of the City of Vernon,
adopted on the 6th day of April, 1976, directing same, notice
is hereby given that sealed proposals or bids will be received
by the City of Vernon, California, at the office of the City
Clerk of said City, at the City Hall, 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, until
the hour of two (2) o'clock P.M., on the 20th day of April, 1976,

for Furniture and Accessories for Vernon City Hall and Police
Facility, in accordance with Contract No. 403, approved by said

Council Chamber of the City Hall located at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue,
Vernon, California, on the date and at the time above mentioned.
Specification and contract documents may be obtained at the
above-mentioned office of the City Clerk, without deposit.
The work to be done and materials to be furnished under said
Contract No. 403 are approximately as follows:
Provide architectural signing
Provide refinishing and refurbishing existing furnishings
Provide furnishings and accessory items
Bidders are hereby notified that, pursuant to the pro-
visions of Sections 1770-1781, inclusive, of the Labor Code of
the State of California, the City Council of the City of Vernon
has ascertained the general prevailing rate of per diem wages
and rates for legal holidays and for overtime work in the locality
in which this work is to be performed, for each craft or type of
workman or mechanic needed to execute the contract which will be
awarded to the successful bidder, and that Resolution No. 4402, of
the City of Vernon established said rates, and is on file with the
City Clerk of the City of Vernon.
Notice is further hereby given that all bidders may submit

To be entitled to consideration, each bid submitted pursuant
to this notice shall be made out on a form to be obtained at the
office of the Director of Public Works, shall be accompanied by a
certified check, draft, or bid bond, payable at a bank authorized
the City Clerk of the City of Vernon, in an amount equal to ten
time stated herein, and must be plainly marked "Proposal for Con-
tract No. 403".
will be declared forfeited if the successful bidder refuses or
neglects to enter into a contract of the required form after being
requested to do so by the City Clerk of the City of Vernon, Cali-
fomia.
The successful bidder will be required to furnish a faith-
ful performance and payment bond in an amount which is the smallest
sum that is . aultiple of $1,000 and not less than 100% of the
maximum contract price.
Unless otherwise required by law, no bidder may withdraw his
bid for a period of forty-five (45) days after the date set for the
opening thereof.
The City of Vernon reserves the right to reject any and all
bids or waive any informality in the bid.
