Resolution No. 4402 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15' 16 17 III> RESOLUTION NO. 4402 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON APPROVING CONTRACT NO. 403 AND AUTHORIZING NOTICE INVITING SEAL Ell PROPOSA.LS OR BIDS FOR FURNITURE .AND ACCESSORIES FOR VERNON CITY HALL AND POLICE FACILITY IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO.' 403 OF~nE CITY OF VERNON THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: WHEREAS, there has been presented to the ~i~y Couneil of the City of Vernon, Contraet No. 403 for Furniture and Aeeessories for Vernon City Hall and Poliee Facility. and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has deter- mined that it is in the best interests of the City of Vernon that said Contract be awarded in accordance with applicable. state laws; NOW, THEREF0RE, BE IT RESOLVED: SECTION 1: That Contract: No. 403 is hereby approved by the City Council of the Cit:y of Vernon. SECTION 2: That: the City Clerk of the City of Vernon is hereby directed to file in his office at the City Hall of the City of Vernon a copy of Contract No. 403. 18 SECTION 3: That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon is 19 hereby directed to give Not:ice, in writing, inviting sealed pro- 20 posals or bids for Furniture and Accessories for the Vernon City 21 Hall and Police Facility, in accordance with Contract No. 403, and 22 in accordance with this Resolution. 23 SECTION 4: There being no newspaper of general circulation . . 24 printed, published or circulated in the City of Vernon, the City 25, Clerk is hereby directed to post said Notice. or cause the same I 261 to be posted, in three (3) of the most public places in the City ,~ 27 of Vernon, to wit: the northwest corner of 38th Street and Santa 28 Fe Avenue, the northeast corner of Leonis Boulevard and Pacific 29 Boulevard, and on the bulletin board in the lobby of the City 30 Hall of the City of Vernon, located at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue in 31 said City. 321 I I I I I , ! SECTION 5: The City Council of the City of Vernon has -1- 1-" 0( i "'" 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 81 ascertained that the general prevailing rate of per diem wages and the rates for legal holidays and for overtime work in the locality in Which the work is to be performed, described in Contract No. 403, for each craft or type of workman or mechanic needed to execute the Contract, Which will be awarded to the successful bidder, and that the general prevailing rate of per diem wages and rates for legal holidays, for overtime work in the locality of the execution of Contract No. 403, for each craft, classification or type of workman or mechanic needed is set forth in said Contract and incorporated by reference at this point for all purposes as if set forth in full and hereby approved by the City Council of the City of Vernon. The work to be done and materials to be furnished under said Contract No. 403 are approximately as follows: Provide architectural signing Provide refinishing and refurbishing existing furnishings Provide furnishings and accessory items Bidders are hereby notified that, pursuant to the pro- visions of Sections 1770-1781, inclusive, of the Labor Code of the State of California, the City Council of the City of Vernon has ascertained the general prevailing rate of per diem wages and rates for legal holidays and for overtime work in the locality in which this work is to be performed, for each craft or type of workman or mechanic needed to execute the contract which will be awarded to the successful bidder, and that Resolution No. 4402, of the City of Vernon established said rates, and is on file with the City Clerk of the City of Vernon.
