RESOLUTION NO. 4405
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON ACCEPTING
THE BID OF JAMES HILL AND COMPANY INC., FOR FURNITURE AND ACCES-
SORIESFOR VERNON. CITY HALL AND POLICE FACILITY IN ACCORDANCE
WITH CONTRACT NO. 403 OF THE CITY OF VERNON.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, Contract No. 403 of the City of Vernon was
approved by the City Council of the City of Vernon, pursuant to
Resolution No. 4402 for Furniture and Accessories for Vernon
City Hall and Police Facility, and sealed bids were opened on
April 20, 1976, and
WHEREAS, said bids were referred to ARTHUR E. NELSON,
JR., Director of Public Works, who has reported to the City Council
under date of April 30, 1976, recommending that the Contract for
Furniture and Accessories for Vernon City Hall and Police Facility
be executed with James Hill and Company Inc., on the basis of
their bid in the sum of One Hundred Thirty Seven Thousand One
Hundred Thirteen Dollars and Fourteen Cents ($137,113.14), being
the lowest bid meeting the Contract requirements, and also their
acknowledgement regarding Item 1, and deletion of Item 6 of terms
and conditions included with their bid.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
does hereby award the Contract in accordance with the recommenda-
tion of ARTHUR E. NELSON, JR., Director of Public Works.
SECTION 2: That all other bids are rejected and the
City Treasurer is hereby directed to return to unsuccessful bid-
ders any cashiers or certified checks deposited with said bids.
SECTION 3: That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon
shall certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 4th day of May, 1976.
