AND AUTHORIZING NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS OR BIDS FOR 45th STREET, 54th STREET AND.PACKERS AVENUE IMPROVE~ MENT,INACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO. 393 OF. THE CITY OF VERNON THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: WHEREAS, there has been presented to the City Council of the City of Vernon, Contract No. 393 for 45th Street, 54th Street and Packers Avenue Improvement, and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has determined that it is in the best interests of the Cfty of Vernon that said Contract be awarded in accordance with applicable state laws; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: SECTION-l:That Contract No.' 393 is hereby approved 15 by the City Council of the City of Vernon. 16 SECTION 2: That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon 17 is hereby directed to file in his office at the City Hall of the 18 City of Vernon a copy of Contract No. 393. 19 SECTION 3: That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon 20 is hereby directed to give Notice, in writing, inviting sealed 21 proposals or bids for 45th Street, 54th Street and Packers Avenue 22 Improvement, in accordance with Contract No. 393, and ill accor- 23 dance with this Resolution. 24 SECTION 4: There being no newspaper of gel1eral circula- 25 tion printed, pUblished or circulated in the City of Vernon, the 26 City Clerk is hereby directed to post said Notice, or cause the 27 same to be posted, in three (3) of the most public places in the 28 City of Vernon, to wit: the northwest corner of 38th Street and 29 Santa Fe Avenue; the northeast corner of Leonis Boulevard and 30 Pacific Boulevard; and on the bu1letill board in the lobby of the 31 City Hall of the City of Vernon, located at 4305 Santa Fe AVel1ue 32 in said City. -1- , . 1 SECTION 5: The City Council of the City ef Vernon has 2 3 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23' 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 4 5 6 7 8 ascertained that the general prevailing rate of per diem wages and the rates for legal holidays and for overtime work in the locality in which the work is to be performed, described in Contract No. 393, for each craft or type of workman or mechanic needed to execute the Contract, which will be awarded to the successful bidder, and that the general prevailing rate of per diem wages and rates for legal holidays", fer overtime work in the locality of the execution of Contract No. 393, for each craft, classification or type of workman or mechanic needed is set forth in said Contract and incerporated by reference at this point for all purposes as if set forth in full and hereby approve by the City Council ef the City of Vernon. SECTION 6: That the City Clerk of the City ef Verno. is hereby directed to post said Notice forthwith and the first posting of said Netice shall be not less than ten (10) days befor the opening of bids for the proposed work.
