RESOLUTION NO. 4417
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON ACCEPTING
THE BID OF UNITED ASPHALT COMPANY, INC. J FOR 45th STREET- 54th
STREET AND PACKERS AVENUE IMPROVEMENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT
NO. 393 OF THE CITY OF VERNON
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, Contract No. 393 of the City of Vernon was
approved by the City Council of the City of Vernon, pursuant to
Resolution No. 4407 for 45th Street- 54th Street and Packers
Avenue Improvement, and sealed bids were opened on June 1, 1976,
and
WHEREAS, said bids were referred to ARTHUR E. NELSON, JR.,
Director of Public Works, who has reported to the City Council
under date of June 8, 1976, recommending that the Contract for
45th Street- 54th Street and Packers Avenue Improvement be exe-
cuted with United Asphalt Company, Inc., on the basis of their
bid in the sum of Seventy Nine Thousand Three Hundred Seventy
Five Dollars and Fifty Five Cents ($79,375.55), being the lowest
bid meetiag the Coatract requirements;
NOW, THEREFORE J BE IT RESOLVED:
SECTION 1: .. That the City Council of the City of Vernon
does hereby award the Contract in accordance with the recommenda-
tion of ARTHUR E. NELSON, JR., Director of Public Works.
SECTION 2: That all other bids are rejected and the City
24 Treasurer is hereby directed to return to unsuccessful bidders
25 any cashiers or certified checks deposited with said bids.

SECTION 3: That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon
shall certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 15th day of June, 1976.
