2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON CLARIFYING
AMBIGUITIES IN ORDINANCE NO. 856 OF THE CITY OF VERNON.

4 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
5 WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 856 of the City of Vernon has been
6 adopted and contains therein certain definitions which have resu1-
7 ted in ambiguities, and
8 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon desires to
9 clarify the language set forth in said Ordinance and to show its
10 true intent without necessarily amending the same except as ref1ec-
11 ted in this Resolution, and
12 WHEREAS, this Resolution shall be deemed the guide for
131 interpretation of Ordinance No. 856, wherein app1ic~b1e, and
14 expresses the true intent of the City of Vernon,
15' NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
16 SECTION 1: SECTION 7 of ORDINANCE NO. 856 in Subsection
17 (12) thereof, will be interpreted to read as follows:
18 "(12) Petroleum Refinery. Means an establishment or plant
19 primarily engaged in producing gasoline, kerosene, distillate
20 fuel oils, residual fuel oils, lubricants and other products
21 from crude petroleum and its fractionation products, through
22 straight distillation of crude oil, redistillation of unfinished
23 petroleum derivatives, cracking or other processes including
24 producing natural gasoline from natural gas but not including
25 establishments or plants primarily engaged in blending, com-
26 pounding, and re-refining lubricating oils and greases from
27 purchased mineral, animal and vegetable materials."

SECTION 2: SECTION 7 of ORDINANCE NO. 856 in Subsection
(15) is thereby interpreted to delete the first three words thereof
and in lieu insert the words, "Junk Yard".

SECTION 3: SECTION 8 of ORDINANCE NO. 856 in Subsection
(4) is thereby interpreted to read as follows, "(4) MS 3 Petroleum
Refinery".

SECTION 4: SECTION 8 of ORDINANCE NO. 856 in Subsection
(5) is thereby interpreted to mean, "(5) MS 4 Junk Yard", and Sub-
section (b) of SECTION 17 is thereby interpreted to allow the
permitted use for ffJunk Yard".
SECTION 5: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and there-
after the same shall be in full force and effect.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 7th day of December, 1976.
